HTML Forms – Simple WordPress Forms Plugin

It's the perfect Form Plugin for me. I want to write my own form HTML and style it with my own CSS (using Tailwind CSS). It's just perfect for my use case and works very well for years now. 

The only downside is that it uses the admin-ajax.php and not a REST API Endpoint, but it works fine this way, too.

Really this form plugin gives open sky for form creation in wordpress. I can modify the form to my heart content. I can utilize ready made layout of any framework for example bootstrap, I can utilize any script available for custom functionality of the form, like any custom field, mutli step form, conditional fields etc. Super easy to use, if you already familiar with contact form 7.

So I think its the best alternative for the most popular contact form 7. Great Job!

I would suggest that you should also prepare an addon for the plugin to save its data as custom metadata in wordpress on submission of form. That will bring possibility to use this form as front end custom post submission.

Excellent plugin for any custom form

Finally, after many recommendations from my fellow devs, I gave this plugin a try.

It's lightweight, has no cruft, does what I ask of it, and hands all responsibility of styling to the theme/customizer... as any form plugin for WordPress should do.

That was easy

This has to be the best WordPress form plugin I have ever used and boy I have used too many to count. Minimum to No CSS &JS, easy to markup and configure, great customer support and webhooks (premium) are the things I needed and HTML forms fits my needs.

Free version is great for almost everyone but if you have a budget, try premium.

Important note: Don't use it if your WordPress site is on PHP8. Caused a redirect loop on the robots.txt file for me.
