<p>Very simple, unique and exciting plugin that allows the bloggers to link an image to an audio file through the Media Library. Automatically, a little play icon will be added on your images in your posts. That way, you can give another dimension to your images thanks to sounds, music or voice-over. Here is a very simple example.</p>
<p><strong>BETA</strong>. This plugin was just created. We are waiting for the first feedbacks of our users to decide which way to go. We have many ideas for it but we prefer to hear from you first. We will keep it clean, consistent and excellent.</p>

<p><strong>IDEAS</strong>. Tell an audio story behind each image rather than text (the text should focus on SEO instead, be an excerpt of the story). Use cinemagraphs instead of normal images  and have the audio track synchronized with it. Write a post with photos taken around your home, with the associated background audio. Write a post with portraits, each of them will say a simple sentence with their own voice. Etc…</p>

<h4>How Audio Story Works</h4>
<p><strong>Linking Audio to Images:</strong><br />
1. Go to Media Library (list view) or edit any media file<br />
2. Use the “Audio Story” column or meta box to attach files<br />
3. Images can be linked to audio files, and vice versa<br />
4. Once linked, a play button appears on the image in your posts</p>
<p><strong>Autoplay Feature:</strong><br />
* Enable autoplay by checking “Autoplay when image comes into view” in the attachment edit screen<br />
* When visitors scroll and the image becomes visible, audio plays automatically<br />
* Due to browser security policies:<br />
  – If the visitor has already interacted with your site, audio plays immediately<br />
  – On first visit, a subtle notice appears: “Click anywhere to enable audio”<br />
  – After any click/tap, all autoplay audio will work normally<br />
  – The play button pulses to indicate audio is ready</p>

<li>Upload audio files and image files to your Media Library</li>
<li>In the Media Library list view, use the Audio Story column to link files</li>
<li>Or edit any image/audio file and use the Audio Story meta box in the sidebar</li>

<li>Your images now have audio! Visitors can click the play button or experience autoplay</li>

<p><a href="http://lightdigitalmedia.com/wordpress-plugins/soundcloud-sound-competition/" rel="nofollow ugc">SoundCloud Sound Competition </a> has been created to let you host your own remix competition without thinking about storage space, it’s all integrated with SoundCloud so that all remixes are stored there.</p>
<p>Just make your own app in Soundcloud and add the parameters within your settings and you are good to go. You can chose a database slug when a competition has come to an end and you want to start another one, this creates a new competition. The plugin uses <a href="https://api.soundcloud.com/oauth2/" rel="nofollow ugc">OAuth2</a> so your Soundcloud account details are not stored for the<br />
plugin to gain access.</p>

<h4>Setup</h4>
<p>Once installed, the authorization process is easy:</p>

<p>When you first access the plugin’s options page, you will have to fill in setting of you app.</p>

<p>To create an app in Soundcloud go here: http://soundcloud.com/you/apps, after logging in you should get the putton “Create new application”</p>

<p>After making a name for your app you will get all the information to fill in there. Copy and past all the information into your plugin settings in wordpress in the appropriate fields matching names.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>In WordPress create a page for your Remix SoundCloud registration and put in the wordpress code there.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>The URL of the page you created in 4. type this in your app http://soundcloud.com/you/apps where it says: Redirect URI, this is where SoundCloud redirects after connecting.</p>

<p>Test your app to see everything working.</p>

<p>If your website is on a windows server and you get the following error: “The requested URL responded with HTTP code 0” you might have a problem with cURL with your setup, please see the following link to resolve:<br />

<p>If you get the error while activating the plugin: “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /pathtowordpress/wp-content/plugins/soundcloud-sound-competition/API/Facebook/FacebookSession.php on line 93” This is due to a lower PHP version than the requirements PHP 5.4 or higher. Solution is to upgrade your PHP version.</p>
