<p>This plugin can override the Authors metabox on the post add/edit screen, letting users who can edit other people’s posts, reassign a post to others user on the site.</p>
<p>This is especially useful in situations where you’ve created custom user roles that WordPress doesn’t recognize as Authors.  If you want to allow your content editors and administrators to assign new or existing content to anyone, you’ll (hopefully) like this plugin very much indeed.</p>
<p>On WordPress 5.0, the metabox will appear below the main block editor (see screenshot).  I will be supporting updates to the Status & Visibility box as soon as possible.</p>
<p>I’m not sure how far back this plugin will work, I’m saying it requires 3.5 or greater — it was originally developed using WordPress 4.1.</p>

<h4>Developer notes</h4>
<p>This plugin will only be useful for admins (network super admins or regular admins). It will not add functionalities for other roles unless you specifically apply custom capabilities for those users.<br />
Also keep in mind that switching to users that have equal roles is disabled. (regular admins to regular admins + super admins to super admins)</p>
<p>I’ve created this at first for myself since I’m a developer and often need to see the outcome on roles which my clients use.</p>
<p>So, when you are developing a plugin or theme that does anything with roles or capabilities you can use this plugin to easily check if everything works.<br />
No more hassle of creating test users and constantly logging out and in anymore!</p>
<p>This plugin is also useful to support your clients and/or users. For example; make screen display presets of the edit and overview pages before you let them log in.</p>

Great plugin, trying to debug user issues getting the usual level of information from a user, found this plugin and boom there it is.
