<p>This plugin adds the necessary lines to the virtual robots.txt file that WordPress creates automagically to block to block Feeds and Comments resources.</p>
<h4>What ideas is this plugin based on?</h4>
<p>None. We needed a fast solution to add these lines to the robots.txt file and this was the solution we coded.</p>
<h4>What is the robots.txt file?</h4>
<p>The robots.txt file is a plain text file located at the root folder of a domain (or subdomain) which tells web crawlers (like Googlebot) what parts of the website they should access and index.</p>
<p>The first thing a search engine crawler looks at when it is visiting a page is the robots.txt file and it controls how search engine spiders see and interact with the web pages.</p>
<h4>System requirements</h4>
<p>PHP version 7.1 or greater.<br />
We require 7.1 or higher because we believe that everybody should be running a modern PHP version. When releasing this plugin <a href="https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/" rel="ugc">WordPress recommends PHP 7.4 or higher</a>.</p>
<h4>How to get this plugin in your Language!</h4>
<p>This first release is avaliable in English and Spanish. In the “languages” folder we have included the necessary files to translate this plugin.</p>

Blocks some Feed and Comment resources in order to avoid spam bots

<p>PHPEnkoder is a port of the excellent <a href="http://hivelogic.com/enkoder" rel="nofollow ugc">Hivelogic<br />
Enkoder</a> to PHP and, more specifically,<br />
to WordPress. It is used to display text in a way that users can see<br />
and bots can’t.</p>
<p>The encoding system is directly and unabashedly stolen from the<br />
BSD-licensed source of Hivelogic Enkoder, which works by randomly<br />
encoding a piece of text and sending to the browser self-evaluating<br />
Javascript that will generate the original text. This works in two<br />
ways: first, a bot must first have a fairly complete Javascript<br />
implementation (in particular, it must have <code>eval</code>); second, the<br />
decoding process can be made arbitrarily computationally<br />
intensive. This is similar to the idea of charging computational<br />
payments to send e-mail, only this is actually implemented.</p>
<p>By default, PHPEnkoder scrambles e-mails in plaintext and in <code>mailto:</code><br />
links.  It additionally provides a shortcode for manual scrambling,<br />
used like so: <code>[enkode text="shown to non-JS browsers"]this will be<br />
scrambled[/enkode]</code>.</p>

Encodes mailto: links and e-mail addresses with JavaScript to stifle webcrawlers.  Automatically turns plaintext e-mails into (enkoded) links.
