chimpXpress is a Mailchimp integration for WordPress. It allows you to create blog posts from existing Mailchimp campaigns and create new campaign drafts from within WordPress by using your blog posts as campaign content.

<h4>What is Mailchimp?</h4>
Mailchimp is an award-winning marketing platform that allows you to send email campaigns to a list of subscribers. It is free for up to 500 contacts, which is why it is the newsletter-service of choice for thousands of small businesses across the globe.
If you are not yet using Mailchimp, <a href="https://mailchimp.com/signup" rel="nofollow ugc">creating an account is 100% free and only takes you about 30 seconds</a>.
<h3>3rd Party or External Services</h3>
The main goal of this plugin is to create a bridge between your WordPress site and Mailchimp. In order to accomplish this the plugin will initiate connections to the Mailchimp Marketing API through encrypted network connections. This is required to send and retrieve data between your site and Mailchimp, such as: templates, recently sent campaigns, name and size of subscriber lists and more.

This plugin does not collect any user data of your site’s visitors. However, you can choose to include Google Analytics tracking codes in the Landing Pages you import from Mailchimp to your WordPress site. Doing so will allow Google Analytics to collect all sorts of user data. This is optional and will only be enabled if you enter your Google Analytics Profile ID in the configuration.

This plugin uses <a href="http://mandrillapp.com/api/docs/" rel="nofollow ugc">Mandrill API</a> to send outgoing emails, with or without attachments, from your WordPress installation. It replaces the wp_mail function included with WordPress.
Emails are tracked and automatically tagged for statistics within the Mandrill Dashboard. You can also add general tags to every email sent, as well as particular tags based on selected emails defined by your requirements.
You can also use your own templates that have been added to your MailChimp account and shared with your Mandrill account.
There are a few levels of integrations between your WordPress installation and this plugin:

<li>The simplest option: Install it, configure it, and Send Emails with Mandrill will start sending your emails through Mandrill.</li>
<li>If you need to fine tune certain emails, you can change any email by creating a filter for the mandrill_payload hook.</li>
<li>For further customization, we’ve exposed a function that allows you to send emails from within your plugins, instead of the regular wp_mail function: wpMandrill::mail</li>
</ol>
Enable the connection by entering a valid API key in the settings page or adding the line <code>define('SEWM_API_KEY', '{YOUR_API_KEY}')</code> your site’s wp-config.php file.

<li>Daily statistics will show data for the first 20 senders (emails) registered.</li>
<li>Daily statistics will show data for the first 40 tags registered.</li>

If your account has more than 20 senders registered or more than 40 tags used, the detailed daily statisticas might show incompleted data.

This was a super useful plugin that Mandrill/MailChimp stopped supporting, so glad to see it being actively supported again!

Great that this plugin got a second life! It beats tons of other SMTP plugins trying to support mandrill. It needs a few updates to be fully PHP7.4 compatible and it would be great to have a few extra options (thing return_path_domain etc). On that note: I can help if that would in this great effort!?
