<p>In the <em>Settings->Discussion</em> page, authors of a post can use the checkbox <em>Email me whenever – Anyone posts a comment</em>.</p>
<p>But this does not send an email as well to the site admins. In blogs where you have a number of guest authors, you may want to be informed about all the new comments so you can respond (if the author is missing) or just participate in the discussion.</p>
<p>As a site admin myself, I was missing many comments. This means plenty of missing opportunities to engage with your audience.</p>
<p>To solve this situation, the plugin adds a new checkbox in the <em>Discussion</em> page. If checked, admins will get an alert email for new comments.</p>

Very simple plugin that doesn't try to do many things. But the one it does is very useful: as a website owner you want to make sure you're on top of all the comments in the site even comments to posts you didn't write.

<h4>HOW DOES IT WORK</h4>
<p>The Notification plugin is built with three main components:</p>

<li>Trigger – a WordPress action, ie. User registration or Post publication</li>
<li>Carrier – the thing which is being sent, ie. Email or Push</li>
<li>Merge Tag – dynamic content, ie. {user_email} or {post_permalink}</li>

<p>You can use them in any combination, adding as many Notifications as you want. They can be sent to multiple Recipients with the content you write.</p>
<p>The process is simple:</p>

<li>Compose your message with Merge Tags</li>
<li>Set Recipients</li>
<li>Save the Notification</li>

<h4>PERFECT FOR DEVELOPERS</h4>
<p>The Notification plugin is easy to set in the WordPress Admin, but it’s even easier to extend with some sweet API.</p>
<p>You can create your own Triggers with any WordPress action. If you do in your code <code>do_action( 'my_plugin_doing_awesome_thing' )</code> you can create a Trigger out of it.</p>
<p>This allows you to use the Notification plugin as a notification system in your own plugin or theme. How? Well, because of two things:</p>
