The plugin gives search boxes on the blog additional functionalities for operators among search words, such as Google’s. The other supported operators than the standard ‘and’ search are OR, -(exclude), *(any string) and parenthesis.
The plugin contains <a href="https://github.com/yonaka/SearchWordsSQL" rel="nofollow ugc">SearchWordsSQL</a> and <a href="http://genericons.com" rel="nofollow ugc">Genericons</a> libraries. These are subject to the respective licenses. If you want to redistribute this plugin with Genericons, you may have to comply with GPLv2 (not lesser).
<h3>Search Operators</h3>
<ul>
<li>Specify words separated by space(s) to search posts containing all the words.</li>
<li>Quote a string containing space(s) by double quotes to search posts which contain phrase(s) consisted of those words only in the order.</li>
<li>Insert an asterisk (*) in a word without any space to search posts which contain the word(s) regardless of what the part of the asterisk is.</li>
<li>Prepend a minus sign (-) without any space to a word to search posts which do not contain the word(s).</li>
<li>Specify two words separated by ” OR ” in upper case to search posts which contain either of words or both. This takes precedence over words separated by space(s) only.</li>
<li>You can combine the above expression. Use a pair of parenthesis to group expressions if needed.</li>
</ul>
It searches in the bodies and titles of posts in a case-insensitive manner.

Great Plugin

I use the pro version of this plugin and it is truly one of the best, most useful plugins out there. There's no bloat. It doesn't load you down with a bunch of crappy templates or anything like that. It just focuses on providing you all the options you could need for searching and filtering content and leaves the rest to you. I am always pleasantly surprised that when I want to do some weird thing with filtering I find that this plugin already has the ability to do it.

Excellent plugin with excellent support

I would love to say this plugin is awesome. I really would. It has some great functionality out of the box. I need to drop it a star and a half because it overlooks a few fundamental priorities that would be easy to fix but they don's seem to want to bother with. First, their is no way to alter the html template of the outputted form, or give you a way to segment it into sections. This creates a huge drag trying to style a single flowing list of elements <ul><li></li></ul>. This would be easy to solve and there are several requests for styling help. Second, the pro support is not very good. I was not able to find a way to contact them on my account page so came and left a review instead.
