It is responsive and works on desktop computers & mobile devices
You can dock the accessibility panel to any of the 4 sides in desktops and to 2 sides in mobile devices
The accessibility panel opens from an toggle icon that can be set to any of the 4 corners from the admin option panel
All the icons have a keyboard shortcut so you can control the accessibility from the keyboard even with the accessibility panel hidden

Accessibility plugin - Make the site easier to read and navigate

Add a Table of Contents block to your posts and pages. The TOC is a nested list of links to all heading found in the post or page. To use it, simply add a block and search for “SimpleTOC” or just “TOC”.
The maximum depth of the toc can be configured in in the blocks’ sidebar among many other options. There can hide the headline “Table of Contents” and add your own by using a normal heading block.
SimpleTOC is open-source and developed on <a href="https://github.com/mtoensing/SimpleTOC" rel="nofollow ugc">GitHub Pages</a>. If you find a bug or have an idea for a feature please feel free to contribute and create a pull request.

SimpleTOC – Table of Contents Block

This is the simplest plugin which works perfectly what it is meant for.

I like the plugin a lot. It's simple. It works pretty well and has a few configurations but not too many. Thanks for it! (I am using it to learn Wordpress blocks development, which coming from PHP I think it's quite a challenge. Blocks change the development weight from PHP to JS/React a lot!)

Lightweight, effective, actively-maintained


I tested 8-10 table of contents plugins for keyboard and screen reader accessibility and this plugin was by far the best. There was one issue with the accordion that caused a problem for screen reader users, so I opened a support forum thread and the developer released a fix within a few hours. Wow!



This plugin is easy to use, has great HTML markup, and it's refreshing to find a developer who takes accessibility seriously. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Don't even look for another table of contents plugin.

Great plugin that works really well


Comparing this to the "Table Of Contents Block" by WPDeveloper, I prefer this one because:




It just works automatically.



It has less options, but just enough to do what you need.



It adds nothing to the frontend to cause bloat. No CSS, no JS. At least not right out of the box. Additional settings can be enabled that will add these, but it's nice that we have the option!




This is an example of what a well-written plugin should be.
