Wonderful work. We've built something similar inside our BusinessPress plugin (also manages updates, exposes hidden preferences & reduces WordPress branding). It would be great to join forces in fighting evil admin plugin notifications. Keep up the great work making WordPress the publisher-friendly CMS it deserves to be.
