This plugin allows you to set a custom alternative text to each instance of an image widget that you add to a post or page using the Elementor Editor. You can also use the attachment alternative text (as default) or even set the alt text empty (for decorative images).

<h3>How to use it</h3>
Simply add an Image widget to your post or page using the Elementor Editor and you will find the new settings under the Link field on the Content → Image in the Elementor Panel.
The Alternative Text field is set by default to “Attachment Alt Text”, that means that the image will use the default Attachment alternative text (this is the default behavior of Elementor). But now you can also set it to “None” (if your image is decorative) or “Custom” (in that case, a new field will appear where you can set your custom text).

With this plugin you can:

<li>Set the image filename as the image Description.</li>
<li>Set the image filename as the image Alt Text. This was a default feature in WordPress before 4.7. The plugin restores this essential feature which is great for SEO.</li>

Please remember to take a database backup before running the bulk updater (or anything bulk in general). The bulk updater updates ALL attributes for existing images in the Media Library and ignores the settings set for NEW uploads.

Auto Image Attributes From Filename With Bulk Updater (Add Alt Text, Image Title For Image SEO)


the title says it. This plugin will overwrite existing Alt Text values. This is bad if you've already added any Alt Text values yourself in the past, those will be lost and overwritten with the file name... probably with a non human friendly file name.



If they update this later to check for existing values and don't overwrite those then I would recommend giving it another try.



PS: this goes for ALL title, alt text, description, and caption. All of these will be overwritten even if you already have it set to something.
