How do I use it?
Step 1: register for an API key
To use this plugin you need to register for an API key.
<ol>
<li>Go to the <a href="https://disqus.com/api/applications/" rel="nofollow ugc">Disqus applications website</a> and log in</li>
<li>Click on the ‘registering an application’ link</li>
<li>Enter the required information – label, description and website</li>
<li>Click the ‘Register my application’ button</li>
<li>Click on the ‘Details’ link at the top of the page</li>
<li>Scroll down to the ‘API Key’ field and copy the value into the setting above</li>
</ol>
Step 2: install and setup the plugin
<ol>
<li>Install and activate the plugin</li>
<li>Browse to the ‘Settings’ -> ‘Disqus Latest Comments’ menu</li>
<li>Add in your Disqus shortname and API key</li>
<li>Include the [disqus-latest] shortcode in the page, post or widget where you want the latest comments displayed</li>
</ol>
What options are there?
<ul>
<li>Number of comments listed</li>
<li>Show or hide avatar images</li>
<li>Show or hide moderator comments</li>
<li>Size of avatar images</li>
<li>Use relative (1 day ago) or absolute (1/1/2000) time</li>
<li>Comment length to show</li>
<li>A choice of three pre-configured styles – grey, blue and green or the ability to use your own custom CSS</li>
<li>Ability to bypass caching (for debugging)</li>
<li>Ability to bypass page level caching – lets you display new comments when using a caching plugin</li>
<li>Ability to make linked Disqus usernames open in a new window (target=’_blank’)</li>

Display latest Disqus comments in a page, post or widget

With this plugin you can easily replace the standard WordPress commenting form with one of the popular commenting system’s widget, such as <a href="https://disqus.com/" rel="nofollow ugc">Disqus</a> and <a href="https://www.hypercomments.com/" rel="nofollow ugc">HyperComments</a> or with the VKontakte comments widget.
<h4>Working with plugin</h4>
<ul>
<li>After installation you should go to the plugin settings page in the Comments section and paste the comments widget into a single form field and then click Save Changes.</li>
<li>To get the widget code you will need to register at the appropriate commenting system’s website (or create a simple application for VKontakte).</li>
<li>You can add to the widget code any custom HTML markup.</li>
<li>Any custom text or HTML/JavaScript code will be displayed instead of the standard WordPress comments.</li>
<li>Just leave the field empty to hide the comments on all pages.</li>
