A widgetized plugin that puts an image rotator on your theme in any sidebar. You can choose from three different transitions: linear, loop, and fade. In the widget settings you have the ability to set the transition speed, apply nofollow if linked, open links in a new window, upload/select images to add to the Image Rotator, and to drag & drop to reorder the order you want the images to appear. Or you can set randomize and each time the widget loads it will start with a random image and work its way through your array. Watch the video below for a short demonstration of workflow.

When adding an image to a post or page, usually a thumbnail is inserted and linked to the image in original size. 
All images in posts and pages can be displayed in a Lightbox/colorbox when the thumbnail is clicked. 
Images are grouped as galleries when linked in the same post or page. Groups can be displayed in a slideshow within the Lightbox/colorbox.
Individual images can be excluded by adding a special CSS class.
jQuery Colorbox can also open linked content (external as well as inline) in a Lightbox/Colorbox.

I rarely install plugins on my client's websites but I do have a couple of "utility" plugins to make my life easier with development. This is one of them.
