Excellent plugin

Unfortunately, this plugin is way out of date. When you try to use it with links to the video services it converts them all to http links not https. 

By the looks of it, it also uses embed methods that are no longer supported, at least with YouTube. Looking at the source code it converts the links to /v/ style links not /embed/ ones, so you just get a connection refused error.

Seems like it also strips out adding in extra commands to pass to YouTube like rel=0 and similar (although I'm not sure, I think rel in particular doesn't do anything these days, but all commands are stripped out).

It seems that the lightbox it's based on was last updated in 2014 and is no longer available on the github repo it has in its copyright. 

Needs an overhaul to be useful again.

This plugin generates a hyperlink through the shortcode. When that link is clicked, the given video (depends upon configuration) will be displayed in a responsive popup dialog box.
How to use it 
Examples:
Youtube

Vimeo 
[vk-videopopup src=”vimeo” id=”187625966″ text=”Click to Play Pharrell williams happy”]
text attribute is not mandatory and other two attributes must be specified otherwise popup will not work.
for the source (src): you have only 2 properties: Youtube or Vimeo
for id: you should get the video id from Youtube or Vimeo
