When using the <a href="https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/easy-digital-downloads/" rel="ugc">Easy Digital Downloads</a> plugin to sell digital downloads, this plugin will allow you to optionally add a change log and version number to each of your downloads.
What does EDD Changelog do?
It does a few things…
<ul>
<li>It adds a metabox to the download post page that allows you to enter the change log and the current version number.</li>
<li>It’ll automatically append the change log at the end of the download’s product page in a collapsible container. If you do not want to automatically append the change log, there is an option to turn this feature off per download.</li>
<li>It also adds a new shortcode, <code>[edd_changelog]</code>. This shortcode when used on a download page will automatically show the current downloads change log. The shortcode has 4 options, <code>id</code>, <code>toggle</code>, <code>show</code> and <code>hide</code>.</li>
<li>The change log and version will also be inserted in the <code>[edd_receipt]</code> shortcode under the download link. The change log is presented as a link, that when clicked, will show in a lightbox.</li>

What about <a href="https://easydigitaldownloads.com/extension/software-licensing/" rel="nofollow ugc">EDD Software Licensing</a>?
This plugin completely compatible. If you’re not yet using <a href="https://easydigitaldownloads.com/extension/software-licensing/" rel="nofollow ugc">EDD Software Licensing</a> and you decide to start, <a href="https://easydigitaldownloads.com/extension/software-licensing/" rel="nofollow ugc">EDD Software Licensing</a> will automagically use the change log and version number you entered using this plugin. If you are using <a href="https://easydigitaldownloads.com/extension/software-licensing/" rel="nofollow ugc">EDD Software Licensing</a> this plugin will avoid redundancy and will use the change log and version entered into it.

Add a new metabox to the download where you can input the changelog. The changelog will be appended to the download page and the purchase history.

This is an extension for Easy Digital Downloads that adds a Specs table table below your single download content (option to use it instead as a widget, and/or as a shortcode). The Specs table has these fields by default:

<li>Release date</li>
<li>Last updated date</li>
<li>Current version (compatible with EDD Software Licensing plugin)</li>
<li>Product type</li>
<li>File format</li>
<li>File size</li>
<li>Requirements</li>
<li>Price</li>
<li>Currency code</li>
</ul>
You can leave a field blank to omit that row from the table. There are 2 exceptions to this. 
1. The <code>Last updated date</code> field, since leaving that field blank will disable the entire table. 
2. The <code>Version</code> field. This plugin is compatible with EDD Software Licensing plugin and with EDD Changelog Plugin. If EDD Software Licensing plugin is present, and you have enabled it for a download, that version will override this version in the Specs table on the downloads page. In that case, if you leave the Specs version field blank, the Specs table on the site will still show the version from EDD Software Licensing. So, EDD Specs plugin gives priority to the version entered in EDD Software Licensing plugin, then EDD Changelog Plugin, in that order.
In addition to leaving fields blank, you can add code to add more rows to the table (see FAQs).

It adds the “Current Version” of the download to the purchase receipt “Products” list (on EDD’s <code>edd_receipt</code> shortcode). This is only if EDD Software Licensing plugin or EDD Changelog plugin is not active because those plugins will add their own version.

It lets you enable the Specs table only for downloads that need it. See FAQ for details.
