<p><strong>When Synchronization Happens:</strong></p>

When any stock change occurs in Elementary POS (sale, manual adjustment, etc.), a webhook is sent to WooCommerce.<br />
The plugin processes the update immediately in real-time, updating stock levels in WooCommerce.</p>
<p><em>WooCommerce <span aria-hidden="true" class="wp-exclude-emoji">→</span> Elementary POS:</em><br />
When an order is completed in WooCommerce or when stock is manually changed in WooCommerce admin, stock changes are automatically sent to Elementary POS.<br />
Changes are sent immediately when they occur. If the API is unavailable, changes are queued and retried automatically with exponential backoff (15min, 1hour, 6hours). Any previously failed items are automatically reset and retried when new activity occurs, ensuring no changes are permanently lost.</p>

<h3>Limitations</h3>
<ul>
<li><strong>Decimal Quantities Not Supported</strong> – Due to WooCommerce core limitations, only whole number quantities are supported. Decimal values (e.g., 1.5 kg, 0.75 liters) are automatically rounded to integers, which may affect stores selling products by weight, length, or volume.</li>
<li><strong>Stock Synchronization Trigger</strong> – WooCommerce <span aria-hidden="true" class="wp-exclude-emoji">→</span> Elementary POS stock synchronization occurs in two scenarios: (1) when WooCommerce reduces stock from completed orders (via woocommerce_reduce_order_item_stock hook), and (2) when stock is manually changed in WooCommerce admin. If your store has stock management disabled for certain products (e.g., services, digital products), those products will not trigger synchronization to Elementary POS.</li>
<li><strong>Product Visibility and Stock Status</strong> – Newly imported products are set as “Visible” in catalog and “In Stock” by default. During updates, catalog visibility is preserved (not changed), but stock status is always set to “In Stock”. If you need products hidden or out of stock, adjust these settings manually after import.</li>
<li><strong>Simple Products Only</strong> – The plugin imports all products as Simple products (WC_Product_Simple). Products with variants in Elementary POS are imported as single simple products, not as Variable products with variations. If your catalog relies heavily on product variations (size, color, etc.), you will need to manually configure them in WooCommerce after import.</li>
<li><strong>Flat Category Structure</strong> – All product categories from Elementary POS are created as root-level categories in WooCommerce. Category hierarchies (parent/child relationships) are not preserved during import. Categories are matched by name only.</li>
<li><strong>WP-Cron Limitations</strong> – WP-Cron works based on time intervals (e.g., every hour or once a day), but it only runs when someone visits your site. That means if no one opens your website, the task may not run on time but is put to queue and is executed when first visitors load your web.</li>

<p>The plugin stores operational data in your database:<br />

<h4>Import products into Goodtill from WooCommerce</h4>
<p>If you have an existing WooCommerce store containing products, this plugin can export a CSV of all products which can then be imported in the Goodtill back office, making them ready for sale on the POS.</p>
<h4>Import products into WooCommerce from Goodtill</h4>
<p>If you are creating a new WooCommerce store, this plugin allows directly importing all Goodtill products, or a subsection of products, into WooCommerce ready for sale on your online store.</p>
<h4>Stock syncing</h4>
<p>This plugin allows syncing the stock levels between Goodtill and WooCommerce, using Goodtill as the “master” source of stock values, which are then copied over to WooCommerce.</p>
<p>Products are matched between the two systems via their SKUs, therefore each product and its variants must have a unique SKU.</p>
<p>Stock levels will be in the following cases:</p>
<ul>
<li>The stock values for all published products will be fetched from Goodtill and updated in WooCommerce at a set interval (by default, every hour).</li>
<li>When an order is placed in WooCommerce, the stock will immediately be decremented in Goodtill. The reverse is true in the case of a return or order cancellation.</li>
</ul>
<p>To check whether stock is syncing for a product, check the “Goodtill” tab in the product edit page. This lists the last sync data for the product and its variants, if it has any.</p>
