Content embedded from external sites such as YouTube or Twitter is loaded immediately when visitors access your site. Embed Privacy addresses this issue and prevents the loading of these contents until the visitor decides to allow loading of external content. 
But Embed Privacy not only protects your visitor’s privacy but also makes your site load faster.
All embeds will be replaced by placeholders, ready for you to apply style as you wish. With only a couple of lines of CSS.
By clicking on the placeholder the respective content will then be loaded.
Note: This plugins requires the PHP extension <a href="https://www.php.net/manual/en/book.dom.php" rel="nofollow ugc">“Document Object Model” (php-dom)</a>.

Especially love the "local tweets" feature where tweets are embedded locally as text without any connection to Twitter, and no privacy overlay is required.

A perfect solution which works literally with all kinds of embedded content and can even be extended in the backend. I also like the possibility to use preview images which are cached, so visitors have a glimpse what they could see without compromising their privacy.

Lazy loading makes your site load faster and saves bandwidth.
This plugin replaces all your post images, post thumbnails, gravatar images and content iframes with a placeholder and loads the content as it gets close to enter the browser window when the visitor scrolls the page. Also works with text widgets.
Since it works with iframes, it also covers embedded videoes from YouTube, Vimeo etc.
You can also lazy load other images and iframes in your theme, by using a simple filter.
Non-javascript visitors gets the original element in noscript.
Compatible with the <a href="https://wordpress.org/plugins/ricg-responsive-images/" rel="ugc">RICG Responsive Images</a> plugin for responsive images.
