<p>This plugin connects to external ePay payment services to process online payments securely.</p>
<p>When customers place an order, the plugin communicates with the ePay Payment Gateway API to create and manage payment sessions, authorize transactions, capture payments, and perform refunds or cancellations.<br />
These connections are required for the plugin to function — without them, payments cannot be processed.</p>

<li>What data is sent and when:
<ul>
<li>When a customer initiates a payment, the following information is securely transmitted to ePay’s servers:</li>
<li>Order info, total amount, and currency</li>
<li>Customer’s IP address and optional billing details (if configured to send)</li>
<li>Technical identifiers such as transaction/session IDs</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>During refunds or captures, the plugin sends the transaction reference and amount to the API.</li>
<li>No card data is stored or processed by WooCommerce or this plugin. All sensitive payment details are handled entirely by ePay’s secure payment window and infrastructure.</li>

This data is necessary to authorize and complete payments, to issue refunds, and to display payment statuses in WooCommerce.</p>

<p>The plugin offers an easy and convenient way to accept credit cards and all other payment methods listed below fast and securely. The payment forms will be fully integrated in your checkout and for credit cards there is no redirection to a payment page needed anymore. The pages are by default mobile optimized but the look and feel can be changed according the merchants needs.</p>
<p>This plugin will add support for all VR Payment payments methods and connect the VR Payment servers to your WooCommerce webshop.<br />

<h3>Source code and build process</h3>
<p>This plugin ships a compiled WooCommerce Blocks bundle at <code>assets/js/frontend/blocks/build/index.js</code>. The human-readable source code is included in <code>assets/js/frontend/blocks/src/</code> alongside <code>webpack.config.js</code>.</p>
<p>To rebuild the bundle from source:</p>

<p>This plugin loads a device-identification script from the VR Payment gateway to secure checkout and payment flows.</p>

<li><strong>Endpoint/domain:</strong> Base gateway URL (default <code>https://gateway.vr-payment.de/</code>), script path <code>/s/{spaceId}/payment/device.js</code></li>
<li><strong>Data sent:</strong> <code>sessionIdentifier</code> (value from cookie <code>vrpayment_device_id</code>, a unique device/session ID) and the configured space ID in the request path; no payment or PII fields are sent by this script</li>
<li><strong>When:</strong> Enqueued on cart/checkout page load; the identifier is stored in the browser for up to one year to keep sessions consistent and prevent fraud</li>
<li><strong>Purpose:</strong> Device fingerprinting/session continuity to secure transactions</li>
