<p>Register Flow gives a simple solution to custom registration form needs.  Rather than having you learn to use a new form designer, shortcodes are provided to turn your custom pages into registration steps.  Action and filter hooks are then used to let plugin users tweak the registration process as needed.  This is intentionally a developer focused solution to allow full control of the process.</p>
<p>The registration process has 3 steps:</p>
<ul>
<li>Step 1 is where users could enter a username and validate there it is valid.  You can implement custom validation to modify this step.</li>
<li>Step 2 would be the rest of the information (password, phone, etc).  Once they complete this step an email will be sent enabling them to complete the process.  You can implement custom validation here as well.</li>
<li>Confirmation step is called when the user clicks on the link in their email (up until that point they have not actually been created as a WordPress user).  You can implement custom validation as well as custom logic to be run when the user has been created (good place to save some additional user data).</li>

<h4>Translations</h4>
<p>Translations can be added very easily through <a href="https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/la-sentinelle-antispam" rel="nofollow ugc">GlotPress</a>.<br />
You can start translating strings there for your locale. They need to be validated though, so if there’s no validator yet, and you want to apply for being validator (PTE), please post it on the support forum.<br />
I will make a request on make/polyglots to have you added as validator for this plugin/locale.</p>
<h4>How to choose an antispam plugin</h4>
<p>When you look through the WordPress Plugin Repository you will see more than a hundred antispam plugins.<br />
Which one is the best one? Short answer, there is no “best one”. No spamfilter and no method for spamfiltering is perfect.<br />
Slightly longer answer, you could try about twenty and choose the one that fits your needs best.</p>
<p>But there is also a really long answer.<br />
There are different methods that can be used against spam, and every method has its drawbacks.<br />
In my opinion, having a low number of false positives is more important than perfectly marking all spam, you don’t want to miss out on important people or information. Nagging the user in some way has a similar effect, the user might not even want to bother with that and just walk away.</p>
<ul>
<li>Third party services: Services like Akismet, OOPSpam, Stop Forum Spam and also reCAPTCHA offer third party services to check for spam. This can be very effective, but you are giving user submitted data away to these third parties and are also giving your users up for tracking them.</li>
<li>Captcha’s, reCAPTCHA and Quizz Questions: You are annoying your users and probably sending some of them away. This especially counts for reCAPTCHA for visitors who have third party cookies disabled.</li>
<li>Blacklists: Often running behind the facts. That goes for the way of getting users off that list, and also in getting users on that list.</li>
<li>Referer check: check if the Referer header is set correctly. You can never trust it is set correctly. Modern browsers are limiting the use of Referers, though for now that is mostly for third-party domains.</li>
<li>JavaScript methods: Spammers often (always?) don’t use JavaScript, they just post the form with spammy data. Drawback for this method is that statistics say that about 1 percent of users has JavaScript disabled. Also, some websites have broken JavaScript, which might make the spamfilter break as well.</li>
<li>Activation email for registering users. Users only get activated after clicking a link in an activation email. You still have all the non-activated users in your site however.</li>
</ul>
<p>You could have a bright idea about combining several methods, but then you get the drawbacks of all the methods you use.</p>
<p>Another complication of choosing a good plugin is that most antispam plugins don’t tell you what methods they use. The documentation doesn’t tell you, and looking at the source code just leaves you confused at the chaos that it often is.</p>
<p>My main motivation for writing this plugin is to offer a plugin that does spamfiltering with JavaScript methods in a simple and effective way.<br />
The claimed 1 percent of users that has JavaScript disabled will also be tech-savy enough to enable it again for your website.</p>

Hello, I found that starting from version 2.4.5, the input in the .la-sentinelle-container will be displayed because the old version contained CSS with display: none, which is no longer present in the new version. This will result in a large blank space and unnecessary fields below the comment section of all articles.


This is a convenient plugin, but there are some issues that have been discovered


Great work, I tested it on 2 of my sites that were attracting thousands of spam comments and it worked great, there is an option to save the comments in a spam folder for you to look at later as well as delete them directly. Congratulations on a job well done.

I've been using this plugin for a couple of months now, I have also used other plugins from the same author as well. He has made a simple but yet very effective way to combat the form spam, I use contact form 7 and it integrates with that super easy. The spam has been 100% correct  with no false positives. You can collect the spam if you want to double check but depending on your site that could be an endless job with the amount of spam some of my sites collect. I've been able to monitor real contacts from the forms, and I can only say that the spam that has come through has been delivered by hand and not via  bot system.

Within a few days of launching a new site, it became painfully obvious that we needed better protection for our contact form.



We looked at a few options such as captchas however these all required third-party scripts and cookies.



After a few weeks I'm happy to report that the plugin has blocked over 1000 spam submissions !

La Sentinelle met fin à la pire merde qui ait jamais été inventée : le CAPTCHA. Même le nom est débile. Le CAPTCHA et les bots de SPAM sont pour moi un seul et même enfer dans le monde de l'internet, créés par des gens qui ne devraient même pas avoir le droit de toucher un ordinateur.



Et on est content de voir des Coder Heroes sortis de nulle part pour rétablir la balance.
