Filter Everything — Product Filter & WordPress Filter

I had tried many filter plugins, and even though I have the necessary skills to manually filter any data, I preferred to use a plugin, so my clients would be able to change the parameters of the filters without me having to change any custom code...

I had settled for the Pro version of the Search & Filter plugin, as the free version is pretty, no, very useless when it comes to custom fields. I used the Search & Filter Pro plugin along with the free Custom Layouts plugin, which they compliment each other very well.

Them I saw a YouTube video demoing this plugin, "Filter Everything", and the guy was filtering ACF fields, among other things, and found myself asking, nah, this must be a mistake, he must be demoing the pro version. So I turned to another video and forgot all about it. About a week later, I found myself having 2-3 hours to spare and feeling adventurous, so I decided to humor myself and try this "click & bait" clown of a plugin "Filter Everything".

Man was I wrong !!! I  needed almost no documentation or help to get started, and with little CSS adjustments here and there, I was able to do everything that I was doing with 2 plugins before, and for free. If you did not get it by now, I love this plugin... it's not "click & bait", it's not clownware, it's real and it's freaking awesome !

The only thing missing is importing and exporting your filters from one site to another, which in most cases you can recreate them within a few minutes anyway. That said, within 2-3 minutes, I figured out that I could use WP's import/export feature, and edit the wp_posts table, and match the filters to the Filter sets (and was the real issue), and then simply edit the filter sets and just update them without needing to make any additional changes, and you are done, a quick 2-3 minute job. But really, a plugin this quality needs a built in import/export feature.

This plugin - Filter Everything is definitely a 5/5 stars plugin for me !!!

Many thanks to the author who created and maintains the plugin. It's basically the only reasonable and easy-to-use option to filter anything you need. For me, it's just a big shame that the pro version is handled via envato, which is a system I absolutely hate and if it's at all possible, I avoid it. The only reason why I actually have a registration there is FEpro

it does sh*t like rebuild the entire filter DOM and reinject it every single time a filter is applied. Styling it was super easy but trying to get custom JS to run alongside will result in 7 hours of sunk work and no progress because it just doesn't work like a well-written plugin should.

The free version is very limited; you can only filter the main WP Query and use it only on archive pages.



But that's not the end of the problems – even in this free version, the most important features, such as AJAX filtering, don't work, which means that basically everything you can achieve with this plugin can also be achieved without it (without writing your own code, only by clicking in Gutenberg). Ajax filtering just repeats one post X times in my query. This makes this plugin completely pointless. A waste of space on the server and in the database.

Purchased the pro version but realised it didn't have the feature I was looking for, so I requested for a full refund. However, I only got a partial refund because the seller said that they will not refund the gateway fee. It is not fair to consumers because it wasn't stated anywhere else on the website when I purchased. In the T&C page it also mentioned full refund without any clause.

I tested recently most of the filter plugins and many of them have problems with product ordering, pagination and "and/or" relations. WCAPF was the only solution that covers al the problems I had before. Even the free version is much more powerful than most over the other premium solutions.
