<p>This plugin shows Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and other popular social share buttons above or below your posts.<br />
Easy customization of active buttons and position in the Settings menu.</p>
<p>In contrast to several other sharing plugin, this one aims to use only original code provided by any social network.<br />
There is no other service in the middle, you are not required to register or get a key to use it. Enjoy!</p>
<p>Facebook Like and Twitter social share buttons are loaded by default.<br />
Other buttons, including Digg, Facebook Share, Flattr, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Bitcoin, Litecoin, Stumbleupon, Youtube, Hyves, Print, Email, RSS, Reddit, Tipy, Tumblr, Buffer, SpecificFeeds, Draugiem.lv (Frype.com) can be added through the <code>Settings->Good old Share</code> menu.</p>
<p>Please be careful when selecting the <code>Show buttons in these pages</code> options : it can interact badly with other slide/fade/carousel/sidebar active plugins.</p>
<h4>Shortcode</h4>
<p>If you want to place the active buttons only in selected posts, use the [good_old_share] shortcode.</p>
<p>If you want to place only one share button, add the <em>button</em> attribute to the shortcode, e.g.:</p>

<p>Please note that in order to place single share buttons, they have to be active in the plugin settings page.</p>
<h4>Selective disable</h4>
<p>If you want to hide the share buttons inside selected posts, set a “good_old_share_disable” custom field with value “yes”.</p>
<p>To do so e.g. on a page: open the WordPress backend, go to Pages, click on the Page title to enter the Page edit screen. Then you can add the custom field, <a href="https://www.carriedils.com/how-to-create-custom-fields-in-wordpress/" title="How to Create Custom Fields in WordPress" rel="nofollow ugc">as explained here</a>.</p>

When editing a post, you can use the checkbox in the “Shared Counts” box in the right column to disable the automatic buttons on this specific post.</p>
<p>You can use the <code>[shared_counts]</code> shortcode to manually display the buttons.</p>

Great Plugin

It was either gonna be Shared Counts or Social Warfare. I felt Shared Counts was cheaper, written just as well, very easy to work with. We did some crazy custom stuff.

- saved HTTP and HTTPS counts
- even changed permalink structure, and had it make calls to the old structure as well. 

So basically we were able to combine 3 counts:
- old permalink structure in HTTP
- old permalink structure in HTTPS
- new permalink structure in HTTPS

I'm happy camper. Counts are even cached so as to avoid slowing down your site under heavy load. Love you guys!!!

SO HAPPY WITH THIS PLUGIN!

This is a very nice plugin to have but, there is no clear or intuitive way to set it up. It seems like the questions in the Setting panel are good questions to have as options but when you go to use the plugin meta boxes in the individual post's editor, there is no clear way to "do anything" with the plugin.

I believe it is lacking the simple instructions as to what each functionality or button is supposed to do.

It will say ADD URL, for example, in the post editor metabox. And there is not a way of knowing what the url is or where it is going or what it is going to do if you enter the url.

Then it has a widget to add a new image which, I assume is going to be used as the image that is SENT to social media but, that too is unclear as to what the image "does."

Very ambiguous and lacks the UI/UX needed to use in confidence.

I have installed your plugin version 1.4.1 in my website and because of nonce validation lack in hook wp_ajax_nopriv_shared_counts_email, my server was down for a whole day!!
