googleCards is a google+ wordpress plugin. 
It adds a widget to your blog that will display a link to your google+ profile so people can add you to a circle (follow you). It also displays your name, profile picture and the number of people who have you in circles.
The plugin uses caching to store your google plus profile data to eliminate checking google+ on every page load. 
For the caching to work, your web-server needs to be able to write to wp-content. (a lot of plugins require this so it should be fine). 
If the plugin cannot cache it will still work, but will store the data in the database instead. If caching is working you should see a file called plus_card.txt in /wp-content/cache/. 
As of version 0.4, caching will also failback to using transients to store your scraped google plus data.

Nothing banner after banner sliding in asking if you want this and that.  Nothing but a crap plugin lasted 30 seconds in my site,


Annoying and Spammy


So since it keeps on pushing me writing a review, while I just wanted to deactivate one icon, so here goes: If you're looking for a plugin that puts social media icons on your site, wherever you want it, and add share buttons to your posts, this plugin will do it. But it will constantly remind you it's doing that. 



The settings page is terrible, it tries to be easy to use for non-technical users and puts all the setting on one page, wizard-style. Which is fine for initial configuration but if you want to change anything afterwards it does take a while to find a particular settings in this colorful candyland of a settings page. Why is every radio button 50px high and the buttons 50% of your vw? Why is the font so big? I don't know but you will surely train your scroll finger with this plugin. 



Bottom line: it does what it says it does, for free, mostly. It will constantly try to upgrade you to the premium version in the most annoying ways possible. I'm going to replace this as soon as I find something better.
