<p>Plugin replaces comment author link and (or) links in comment text on jQuery links that will work (i.e. it will be possible to go on the specified site through these links) only in case when the JavaScript technology is enabled in a browser of the visitor of your site.</p>
<p>When can this plugin might be useful:</p>
<ul>
<li>If you want to reduce the number of external links on your site (for example, for any SEO reasons).</li>
<li>If you don’t want to refer to bad sites and you don’t have time and desire to check the links, which are left by the authors of comments.</li>
</ul>
<p>Here is how it looks. For example, there is such a link on the name of comment author:</p>

<p>After plugin activation this link will turn to the such:</p>

Comment Edit Core – Simple Comment Editing

The plugin works as advertised, but it's editor shows HTML code, and not easy to edit comments.

And support appears almost non-existent. Those are the reasons for this 2-star rating.

I'll be looking for an alternative - or maybe crafting my own. 

Good Plugin, Lousy Support


When it works, I'm really happy with what it offers and how it is coded. But it does not work if you have a theme or plugin which anonymizes the IPs of commenters before they are stored. I made a support request, and added to it myself 3 times, but the author never commented - even though I have supplied the one-line solution myself: Insert into simple-comment-editing.php as line 1095 (in plugin version 2.6.0) $comment_author_ip = apply_filters( 'pre_comment_user_ip', $comment_author_ip ); This runs the anonymize filter before using the IP values in the hash function. Then it all works. I provided the fix a couple of weeks before the version 2.6.0 was released, and so now I'm very disappointed and can't understand why the fix did not make it into the new release. Will be very glad to amend my review if the fix is soon incorporated. Independently of all that, thanks to Ronald for providing and maintaining a great plugin!

Great plugin, but support can be a bit slow

Allow your users to edit their comments for a period of time. Adjust the comment timer and save some admin headaches.
