Keep Sabbath is a plugin to help those that want to keep the 7th-day Sabbath and Biblical Holy days set-apart (holy) by not buying or selling on them. (Genesis 2:2,3 ; Isaiah 58:13,14 ; Amos 8:5 ; Nehemiah 10: 31 ; Jeremiah 17:21,22 ; Matthew 6:33 ; Acts 16:13)
You can input specific page URLs to redirect to a certain page URL during the Sabbath and/or specified Holy days. This is useful for e-commerce sites or any site that has online purchasing. It will automatically start redirecting when the Sabbath or Holy days begin, and stop re-directing afterwards.
The timing is based on the understanding that Biblical days begin at sunset and end at sunset the following day.

<li>For the 7th-day Sabbath, this means from sundown Fri. to sundown Sat. it will automatically redirect with no extra configuration from you. </li>
<li>For Biblical holy days (Passover, Pentacost, etc) this means that the day will start sundown the day prior to the day you specify in the admin Holy Day Dates setting.</li>

<h3>Setting up</h3>

Navigate to the Keep Sabbath settings by either clicking the Settings link on the plugins page, or through the Settings > Keep Sabbath menu in the sidebar.

Use a latitude/longitude finder online to find the right coordinates from your address and input them into the Latitude and Longitude fields.

<li>
Optionally, input dates of Holy Days into the Holy day dates field, one per line in the MM/DD/YYYY format.

<li>
Input page names into the Page URLs field, one per line. These are the pages you want to redirect during the Sabbath or a Holy day.
</li>
<li>
Input the page name of the page you want vistors to be redirect to on the Sabbath or Holy days in the Redirect to page URL field.
</li>
<li>
Click the Save Changes button, and you’re done! The plugin will automatically redirect the URLs to the given page on Sabbath or a Holy day.

Liturgical Day of the Week (LDotW)
I had a parish request I incorporate the LDotW wording and color onto their newly redesigned website. I was going to initially make this specific to their site, but then realized this could be adapted to serve a lot of Catholic parishes.
What helps make this plugin a bit unique (especially on its initial release) is the fact that we can handle alternate text as needed. Some Dioceses / Churches need to utilize alternate LDotW titles, which differ from the “standard” ones.
The “Saint of the Day” is now a core part of this plugin, which allowed me to retire the “Saint of the Day” plugin.
This version also brings a few more configuration options, allowing you full control of the output. It also brings a nice visual view when configuring the shortcode options via the shortcode builder.
In addition to that, this version moves the time zone settings to a more centralized location to streamline the plugin. Plus, there was a bit of code clean up to reduce the overall file size and wasted space within the plugin.
Remember to deactivate and delete the “Saint of the Day” plugin, if installed/activated, please.
PLANNED: Incorporating LDotW calendars for other denominations. Version 1.0.0 – 2.0.0 is specific for the Roman Catholic Churches of the United States.

<li>Shortcode builder lets you set whether to display alternate titles, as a result of your parish having slight deviations from the standard Liturgical Calendar (Boston, Philadelphia, etc, use a slightly modified Liturgical calendar from the rest of the dioceses).</li>
<li>Saint of the Day, as well as Feast, Memorial and Solemnity indicator.</li>
<li>Some days have more than one color present. Version 1.0.3 introduces an indicator (color wheel with mouseover visual cue) when present for that day.</li>

This plugin is not compatible with WordPress versions less than 5.2.. I’ve bumped the minimum PHP version to 8.0 (or newer; though you should be on 8.2 by now. We’re running this very nicely on PHP 8.4.13).

<li>The Shortcode Builder has been extensively tested with both jQuery version 1.12.4 and 3.5.1, without any issues. The output, however, does not need jQuery/JavaScript.</li>
