<p>Almost everyone needs a contact form for their website. But you quickly realize that it is not that easy to find a suitable plugin.</p>
<p>Either you end up with huge form builders that are simply too bulky for a single contact form, or you find a small plugin that doesn’t meet your requirements.</p>
<h4>Features</h4>
<p><strong>Minimal Contact Form</strong> is designed to address precisely this problem:</p>

<li>It is a simple contact form without a lot of extras.</li>
<li>All form fields are validated and sanitized.</li>
<li>You can choose to whom the emails are sent.</li>
<li>The form data is sent via AJAX.</li>
<li>Sending with WP Mail (SMTP) or PHP Mail is selectable. </li>
<li>No annoying captchas are used for spam detection, but the honeypot method.</li>
<li>Predefined GDPR-compliant messages with or without checkbox will be displayed.</li>
<li>Those messages are linked directly to the privacy policy.</li>
<li>In case of consent, the recipient will be informed directly in the e-mail.</li>
<li>The plugin is completely translatable (English, German, Spanisch, Italian, French and Russian already available).</li>

<h4>Requirements</h4>

<li>Due to the new privacy options, this plugin requires WordPress 4.9.6 or up.</li>
<li>You must setup a privacy policy page in WordPress.</li>

<p>If you want to translate this plugin into another language, you are welcome! English, German (informal & formal), Spanish, Italian, French and Russian are already there. I used the plugin <a href="https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/" rel="ugc">Loco Translate</a>, but I suppose that other ways should be compatible as well.</p>

Minimal Contact Form is a simple, clean and secure contact form that meets the requirements of the GDPR.

<p>By default, <a href="https://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7/" rel="ugc">Contact Form 7</a> dose not keep data it sends trough it’s contact forms.<br />
While plugins like <a href="https://wordpress.org/plugins/flamingo/" rel="ugc">Flamingo</a> save that data,  uploaded files are not added to Media Library.<br />
This plugin will save uploaded files to Media Library before email is sent by CF7.<br />
This plugin will raise an event with the the full file path & name.<br />
Subscribe to <code>nmr_create_attachment_file_name</code> filter to get and/or update data before attachment is added to media library.</p>

<p>Subscribe to <code>nmr_before_insert_attachment</code> filter to be able to change attachment attributes:  caption and description are ‘post_excerpt’ and ‘post_content’.<br />
For other attributes, check documentation for <a href="https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/functions/wp_insert_attachment/" rel="nofollow ugc">wp_insert_attachment</a>.</p>

<p>Optionally, subscribe to <code>nmr_should_skip_save_attachment_to_media_library</code> filter to be able to skip saving the attachment to media library: return true to skip, false is the default behaviour that saves the attachment to media library. Filter <code>nmr_before_insert_attachment</code> will not be called if skip was true.</p>
