MobiDevices Slug Translate creates clean English slugs for post, page, and media URLs in multilingual WordPress sites. It can translate non-ASCII text, including Cyrillic, and supported Latin-language content into English before WordPress saves the slug.

To use automatic translation, install and activate the plugin, sign up for <a href="https://langbly.com/signup" rel="nofollow ugc">Langbly</a>, create or copy an API key in your Langbly account, and save the key in Settings => MobiDevices Slug Translate. If no key is saved or the translation service is unavailable, the plugin falls back to local transliteration.

This plugin connects to the Langbly translation service to translate post slugs and media file names. An account and API key are required for automatic translation.
This service is used only when:

<li>WordPress saves a post or page slug that needs translation;</li>
<li>WordPress requests a Classic Editor sample permalink for a slug that needs translation;</li>
<li>a media file name needs translation during upload;</li>
<li>you use the key test button in the plugin settings.</li>

The plugin sends:

<li>the text to translate, such as a post title, slug text, or media file name;</li>
<li>the target language code, and the source language when the site locale is used for supported plain-Latin text;</li>
<li>the saved API key in the request headers.</li>

It converts the Macedonian cyrillic characters of the title posts into latin to build better, readable and Search Engine Friendly urls.
For example:
Lets say you want your wordpress to be in Macedonian. So you intall wordpress, install the Macedonian language files, translate the template menus and stuff to Macedonian, but after your first post with title: “Здраво Свет!” you noticed that the url of that post has become something like:
http://www.mkwordpress.com/%C7%E4%F0%E0%E2%EE%20%D1%E2%E5%F2
instead of the good for eyes url:
http://www.mkwordpress.com/zdravo-svet/
This happens because cyrillic characters are not supported in urls and so the code translates them into browser readable language. Now this has two main disadvantages:

<li>It’s not good for visitors, because it doesn’t look human, and some may even think they have been hacked (yup, there still are paranoic people out there 🙂 )</li>
<li>It is bad for search engines. Let say someone writes the phrase “zdravo svet” on google and if you have your urls set up with this plugin then you will rank higher.</li>
