This plugin connects to external services. Below is what each service is used for, what data is sent, when it is sent, and links to that service’s terms and privacy policy.
<h4>Muslims Bright API</h4>
This plugin requires a Muslims Bright backend API. The API Base URL is configured in Muslims Bright > Plugin Settings (for example, https://muslimsbright.com). Without a reachable API, portal login and module screens cannot work.
The plugin sends data to that API when a logged-in WordPress administrator uses Muslims Bright admin pages, including:

<li>Portal login: email and password entered on the login screen.</li>
<li>Authenticated requests: a bearer token stored in WordPress user meta after login.</li>
<li>Module management: content entered in admin forms (for example events, programs, donations, volunteers, jobs, and profile settings).</li>
<li>Salah Calendar: mosque details, prayer-time settings, calendar entries, and related configuration.</li>
</ul>
Data is sent from the WordPress site to your configured API URL via server-side HTTP requests and through the plugin’s WordPress REST proxy.

<h4>Google Maps Platform (Maps JavaScript API, Places, Geocoding)</h4>
When a Google Maps API key is saved in Muslims Bright > Plugin Settings, the plugin loads the Google Maps JavaScript API (with the Places library) from https://maps.google.com/maps/api/js on the Salah Calendar admin page only.
Google’s services are used to:

<li>Provide address and mosque search suggestions while an administrator types in the Salah Calendar setup form (Places Autocomplete).</li>
<li>Reverse-geocode coordinates to suggest the nearest city and country when Salah Calendar auto-configuration options are loaded (Geocoding).</li>
</ul>
Data sent to Google may include:
<ul>
<li>The site administrator’s typed address or place search text (when using “Search from Google”).</li>
<li>The browser’s geolocation coordinates, if the administrator grants location permission during Salah Calendar setup (used only for nearest-city suggestions).</li>
<li>The configured Google Maps API key (included in the script URL when the API is loaded).</li>
</ul>
No Google Maps requests are made unless an administrator configures a Google Maps API key and opens the Salah Calendar admin screen. If no key is configured, the Google script is not loaded.

siteground installed this plugin plugin automatically when 7.0 rolled out, without my consent. That’s a huge security issue and I’ll be moving hosts.

Siteground have no right to add plugins to my sites, and certainly not without my consent, without any notification and without the ability to opt-out.



I am paying you to provide hosting, not so you can randomly deploy your own software onto my domains. I find it wholly unnacceptable that you've done this, and can’t believe that anyone internally signed this off as acceptable.

I found this plugin installed, activated and connected to SiteGround AI Studio on all my WordPress sites, without a clear explicit opt-in from me.



This is not acceptable.



I manage client websites, including WooCommerce stores, and I need full control over every plugin and external connector added to them.



An AI agent connected to WordPress is not a minor feature. It should be something users actively choose to install and connect, not something they discover afterwards.



I removed it from my sites.



The problem is not AI. The problem is trust. This should be strictly opt-in.


Auto-installed, auto-activated and auto-connected. Why?


This plugin has been installed and activated on all my Siteground-hosted sites without my authorization or even knowledge.



Once confronted about this, Siteground support tried to lie about it, stating that they did send out a notice and allowed users to opt out. That is a lie, nothing beyond default update notice for 7.0 WP Core update was sent. 



Initially the support refused to clean up this mess, trying to shift the burden on me, but after some pushback agreed to remove the plugin themselves. As of time of publication this has not happened yet.



I believe this plugin should be banned from the repository for trying to game usage stats by sneakily boosting user numbers without site owners' consent. It might even qualify as a cybersecurity incident.


Unauthorized installation and activation


Again, another voice to the hundreds to say this plugin was auto installed, connected and setup without consent. There was an email saying so, but yeah not great.

THIS WAS AUTO INSTALLED ON MY SIITE! I DID NOT ASK OR WANT FOR THIS TO BE INSTALLED EVER!!!



You need to give the clients the ability to opt-in to having this plugin on their site, not just opt-in everyone if you have hosting services with SiteGround! That is very very bad! 



It also was unstable and caused an error to be displayed in the WP Admin. I removed it immediately and installed a plugin to disable all Wordpress AI features. Removing the plugin caused the error to go away and all related errors in the debug log have been resolved.



I do not trust SiteGround anymore.

You should never, ever FREAKING EVER!!! install a plugin on an existing site without the customer's permission!!!!! 



Additionally, it broke the website with fatal errors.



Siteground has really gone down the tubes in the last bunch of years. They were THE BEST when they launched, now I struggle to recommend them at all.



Note the only acceptable reply to this is, "We are sorry. We will not do something like this again."

Anything AI-related needs to be intentionally evaluated before it is added to a production website. Absolute joke of a decision.
