Panorama – 360 degree Virtual Tour, Panoramic Image viewer and More


The excellent news is that this plugin works. It's simple to use: upload a 360º image to the Media Library, assign it to a Panorama, and then place a shortcut somewhere in the middle of your article, and it will "just work".



There are, of course, a few limitations — at least, on the Free version (they might have been fixed for the Pro [paid!] version, though; I simply cannot test that <i>it just works</i> in all circumstances,  because it will depend on your setup and how much control you have over it (i.e., hosted on a cloud service somewhere … or used in a shared hosting environment).



Notably, from the perspective of the (human!) manager, it's not that easy to figure out how things work. Panoramas are special and are a taxonomy on their own; they are inserted into articles using old-fashioned shortcuts, not fancy Gutenberg blocks.



That said, the results are very reasonable, and this plugin is not limited to merely display "traditional" 360º images; it can also work with more exotic formats (such as Google Street View!). If you don't wish to waste your time searching for the "perfect" plugin, the free version of Panorama Viewer should be more than adequate for most people's needs.


Free version works well, might need a little polishing...

I am a photographer and create 360 tours as well. I stumbled onto this plugin and gave it a shot. It is in Beta, so be fair about this comment... it didn't work. So I contacted the developer and hooked up through social network. We worked through the problems together as he quickly modified his code to fix the problems, which were essentially directory structure linking issues. Within a few minutes it was up and running. Awesome!
The plugin is great and it can only get better as the additional features are added. At the moment, it only works with one tour, but you can have many 360 images in that tour. So if you need a nice demo on your site, this one is amazing. And if you have customers with WP sites, or you build one for them, then this is THE plugin for you.
BAsically it comes to this. Make a basic VR Tour with krpano then use your WP sites images, galleries, pages, posts, etc. as content accessible in the tour with hotspots. You can add the spots and the content directly from a page or post simply by editing that page or post... you'll see your tour in the editor.
