<p>PloverToc is a simple and efficient WordPress plugin that automatically generates a table of contents (TOC) for your posts, pages and custom post types. By using a shortcode, you can easily insert a TOC that helps your readers navigate through your content by providing direct links to different sections. You can also customize the heading levels included in the TOC.</p>
<p>It’s focused on providing a sound TOC interface with no “bells and whistles”. While it does come with some helpful features for customizing the included heading levels via shortcode attributes, the esthetic design and styling of the TOC is left to the user to implement using their own CSS.</p>
<p>Additionally, it does add SiteNavigationElement schema to enhance your site’s SEO.</p>

<p>Add a Table of Contents block to your posts and pages. The TOC is a nested list of links to all heading found in the post or page. To use it, simply add a block and search for “SimpleTOC” or just “TOC”.</p>
<p>The maximum depth of the toc can be configured in in the blocks’ sidebar among many other options. There can hide the headline “Table of Contents” and add your own by using a normal heading block.</p>

<p>I like the plugin a lot. It's simple. It works pretty well and has a few configurations but not too many. Thanks for it!<br />(I am using it to learn Wordpress blocks development, which coming from PHP I think it's quite a challenge. Blocks change the development weight from PHP to JS/React a lot!)</p>

Simple TOC it's just ... simple


Creating and maintaining a plugin requires a significant amount of effort and dedication. It is not a task that can be undertaken by everyone, as it requires an individual with a genuine interest and energy to deliver a product that evolves from being good enough to becoming a perfect product.



We encountered some challenges while using your plugin, but we were pleased to discover that the issue was addressed before we could even report it. We would like to express our sincere appreciation for your active development efforts, which have resulted in the release of version 6.0.2.


Lightweight, effective, actively-maintained


I tested 8-10 table of contents plugins for keyboard and screen reader accessibility and this plugin was by far the best. There was one issue with the accordion that caused a problem for screen reader users, so I opened a support forum thread and the developer released a fix within a few hours. Wow!



This plugin is easy to use, has great HTML markup, and it's refreshing to find a developer who takes accessibility seriously. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Don't even look for another table of contents plugin.

This is an excellent plugin that easily adds table of contents in your posts / pages and it provides links to the relevant headings.



Does exactly what I want and I would highly recommend it if you are looking for an easy to use tale of contents block plugin.

Great plugin that works really well


Comparing this to the "Table Of Contents Block" by WPDeveloper, I prefer this one because:




It just works automatically.



It has less options, but just enough to do what you need.



It adds nothing to the frontend to cause bloat. No CSS, no JS. At least not right out of the box. Additional settings can be enabled that will add these, but it's nice that we have the option!




This is an example of what a well-written plugin should be.
