<p>A <a href="https://wordpress.org/" rel="ugc">WordPress</a> widget to show your <a href="http://getpocket.com/" rel="nofollow ugc">Pocket</a> collection.<br />
The Pocket widget is a WordPress plugin that connects to your Pocket account and displays your Pocket articles in a widget. It is almost a direct translation of the Pocket API to a WordPress widget.</p>
<h3>Setup</h3>
<p>Before you start you need to authenticate the plugin to access your Pocket account.<br />
Go to the Pocket Widget settings and click <strong>authenticate</strong>. This wil take you to Pocket which will tell you what this app is authorised. If you <strong>authorize</strong> it you’ll be taken back to the settings page.<br />
The newly added ‘Access token’ together with the ‘Consumer key’ is your access to Pocket. Save the settings…</p>
<p>By default Pocket Widget has it’s own Pocket App for API access.<br />
You can easily setup your own by going to http://getpocket.com/developer/apps/ and clicking <strong>Create an Application</strong>.<br />
Then give it a name, allow it only to <strong>retreive</strong>, and set the platform to <strong>web</strong>. Then accept terms of service and click <strong>create application</strong>.<br />
Copy the <strong>consumer key</strong> to the Pocket Widget settings and click <strong>Save changes</strong>.</p>
<h3>Versioning and issues</h3>
<p>The main CVS repo for this plugin is on Github. The version up on WordPress is a distilled build of the major tags.<br />

A Wordpress widget to show your Pocket collection.

<p>Pocket WP connects to the Pocket API and pulls in your latest saved links with tags and excerpts into a WordPress page, post or widget.</p>
<h4>Setup</h4>
<p>Due to the way Pocket’s API works, you need to complete a few steps before you can use the plugin.</p>

<p>Install and activate the plugin.</p>

<p>Create an application on the <a href="http://getpocket.com/developer/apps/new" rel="nofollow ugc">Pocket Developers website</a>, enter your Consumer Key into the Pocket WP settings page and click Save Changes to start the authorization process.</p>

<p>Click the Get Access Key link to complete the authorization.</p>

<h4>Shortcode</h4>
<p>The shortcode embeds a list of Pocket links into a page or post.</p>
<p>The basic shortcode is <code>[pocket_links]</code> and it accepts some optional arguments:</p>

excerpt: yes, no // Whether or not to display the excerpt extracted by Pocket. Default is yes.

tag: [any one of your Pocket tags] // Choose to show links from one tag. Supports one tag only. Default is all links, tagged or untagged.

tag_list: yes, no // Whether or not to show a list of tags after each link.

<p>The Widget is available to drag and drop into any widgetized sidebars. It has some options:</p>
