This plugin let’s you fetch episode information from your Podigee podcast feed and copy it directly into the WordPress editor. It automatically adds a shortcode for the open-source Podigee Podcast Player as well.
It is for Podigee users with premium plans – you can check <a href="https://www.podigee.com/en/plans/" rel="nofollow ugc">here</a> to see if your plan includes the use of this plugin. If you don’t need all your podcast’s meta information but only the Podigee web audio player, check out our free-for-all “Podigee Player Shortcode” plugin that uses shortcodes for rendering the Podigee Podcast in your WordPress post.
Note: The plugin now works with the Gutenberg editor! Although the method on how you import your data into the post editor has changed. Please check the FAQs and the manual below.

Podigee WordPress Quick Publish – now with Gutenberg support!


Well where do I start?



It works, yes. (5 Stars)



But:It says "now with Gutenberg support", well no, not really. It either copies a shortcode into your clipboard, which you need to copy into a shortcode block. Or it creates a new post, which is a classic editor block.



So, it kind of works with Gutenberg, but calling it "Gutenberg Support" is exgagurated. (-1 Star)



Next, if you are a paying customer in the business tier for at least 65€/month, and you are using a custom subdomain, which likely is one of the reasons you're paying a 40€ premium per month. The plugin will not work. (-1 Star) (*)



If you contact the Podigee Support (as paying customer) you'll get the response, it's known not to work with custom domains (which, just to remind us, we paid a lot of money to get in the first place). (-1 Star)



Now, my company has a custom domain, I had the choice of accepting this, or try to fix it.

By adding the marked line in the podigee-quick-publish.php, the plugin works with custom domains.



I've sent this patch, among some minor fixes for broken code, to podigee at the 16th March 2023 and well... obviously no update, otherwise I wouldn't be writing this, and worst of all, not even a reply. 



This deducts the next star, leaving us at 1 Star.



TLDR: If you are not using a custom domain, or if you are willing to add my patch above, the plugin is ok, and would rather get 3-4 stars at the current state. My biggest complaint is, that Podigee ignores a paying business tier customer and ignores a sent in patch file.



@Podigee: I'm more than happy updating my review, once you update the plugin.



*) EDIT May 2024: Custom Domains are supported roughly 8 Months after I've done my initial review and roughly 10 Months after I've sent them my initial email. Since I can't test it anymore the following update is untested and unverified. But I'll revoke the -1 Star for not working custom subdomain, but I'm still behind the other deductions, leaving us with an updated 2/5 Stars.


Works but...

Let's you import metadata from your Podigee podcast feed right into the Wordpress post editor. Finally (since 1.0) compatible to Gutenberg.

WordPress comes with a default site-wide RSS feed, but it isn’t sufficient for podcasts, as it only shares blog posts. RSS Feed Pro is a full-featured podcasting plugin designed for both beginners and power users. A user first sets up their preferred podcast hosting, and the plugin delivers it to your WordPress build.
The plugin is an upgraded and advanced revision of Frank Bültge’s RSSImport. RSS Feed Pro will display feeds in your blog, using PHP, a widget, or a shortcode. If you uninstall RSSImport and install RSS Feed Pro, you should not lose any of your current configurations. The plugin uses only standard WordPress functionality; therefore, no external libraries are required. As with all other content you publish, ensure that you are allowed to stream the content from the feeds you are importing.
To create a shortcode for sorting your RSS feeds archive catalog, please activate the plugin then click on RSS Archives > Add New Under “Shortcode Details”. Add the feed URL, then the user can select their sort mode (By Year, By Category, and By Author Name)
To use the RSS Feed Pro widget, navigate to widgets and locate a widget named “RSS Feed Pro”. Select the checkboxes for the shortcodes you’d like to use for your widget. Please click the “Installation” tab above for a comprehensive guide of the plugin’s features and functions.
Includes English, French, and Spanish languages.
