<h4>How to display the filterable portfolio grid using a shortcode</h4>

<p>You can also use dthe shortcode to display the portfolio grid on a page/post, or using Gutenberg and other page builders:</p>

<p>You can customize it using these options:</p>

<li><strong>postsperpage:</strong> Set a number of posts to show (eg: postsperpage=”12″).</li>
<li><strong>showfilter</strong>: Show the category filter on the top of the grid. Options: yes/no. (eg: showfilter=”yes”).</li>
<li><strong>style</strong>: Set the grid style of the portfolio. Options: masonry/box. (eg: style=”box”).</li>
<li><strong>linkto</strong>: Set the link type of the portfolio item. If is set to image, it will open the Featured Image on a lightbox. Options: image/project. (eg: linkto=”image”).</li>
<li><strong>columns</strong>: Set the columns per row of the portfolio grid. Options: 2/3/4. (eg: columns=”4″).</li>
<li><strong>margin</strong>: Choose if you want a margin between the items or no. Options: yes/no. (eg: margin=”no”).</li>

<p>This plugin will add multiple awesome responsive hover effects for the captions of your portfolio/ gallery items in your WordPress site using shortcodes and custom post.</p>
<p><strong> Usage: </strong></p>
<p>Here’s a step by step user manual:</p>
<ol>
<li>Install the plugin. (Find the instructions in the “Installation” section.) </li>
<li>Find the custom post “Hover Captions” in your WordPress dashboard and click on it’s submenu: Add New. </li>
<li>Put the title of the item in the “Title” field of the post. Write your description in the content box. Add the image in the “featured image” box (preferred image size: 400px width and 300px height). You can add the author’s name or a sub heading too, by adding a custom field named “author”. </li>
<li>Use the following shortcode to show all your hover effect portfolio items/gallery items anywhere in your WordPress site. </li>
</ol>
