A simple widget/shortcode which lets you add your latest tweets in your content or widget areas. Get started in just a few clicks and use the provided Widget/Shortcode to easily display your Tweets on your website.
There is no need to create a Twitter application and provides a nice interface to display your tweets in an easy way, just install the plugin and set the options.
It uses the official Twitter’s Embedded Timelines Widget functionality. Twitter offers embeddable timelines that allow you to display any public Twitter feed on your blog. These timelines are interactive, so readers can reply, retweet and favorite tweets straight from your blog or website.

<h4>Why do I develop and mantain this plugin?</h4>
I tried a lot of plugins (Jetpack included) and all of them load unnecessary JS and CSS scripts all over the site, even when the plugin/widget is not displayed. Every file/script loaded in your site generate extra requests for your server and affect your site load time, ending up affecting the final user experience.
That’s why I decided to develop this simple and easy plugin.

A simple shortcode plugin to add the TimelineJS made by Knight Lab.
NOTE While this plugin works up to the listed “tested” version of WordPress, it does not work as it originally did. Knight Lab does not have dedicated PHP development resources, and has not been able to fully adapt this plugin to the new Gutenberg blocks editor in WordPress. The original plugin provided an interface for customizing a timeline in WordPress, but that doesn’t work in the new editor. In short, if you’ve been using the Timeline plugin for WordPress, your existing timelines should continue to work. We would love help from the WordPress community in updating or replacing this plugin with something which is better suited to the new editor paradigm.

My go-to timeline for a horizontal timeline setup (rather than a vertical scroll-to-navigate timeline which this doesn't really accommodate).

It would be nice to see some more updates to this plugin. One larger request would be to make it not require Google Spreadsheet and instead allow it to be managed via the WordPress admin.
