Giveaways and Contests by RafflePress – Get More Website Traffic, Email Subscribers, and Social Followers

I don't believe all plugins should be free, quite the opposite in fact. Devs should get paid for their time.

RafflePress takes this to the extreme though. No trial period, the paid version (for $32) is simply a placeholder plugin which lacks key features and merely serves as a sales magnet to encourage you to upgrade further.

Whatsmore, it appears Facebook blocks shares coming from this plugin and the tweet functionality is too complicated for the average user.

I've asked for a refund. I'll be using another comprehensive alternative plugin instead. One that isn't designed to simply milk me for cash.

<p>This plugin adds a link to the “Edit Posts” view that will allow someone with “can moderate comments” capability (Editor) to download a CSV of all comments for that particular post. This gives an easy one page view of all comments and that can be opened using something like Microsoft Excel. Useful when running a contest on your blog and you are using the comments section for entries. You can then use something like “random.org” to pick a number, and then choose the corresponding row number to decide the winner in your contest.</p>
