This plugin makes redirecting category menu item to the latest post in it easy by just clicking a checkbox in admin page.
Adding query <code>?latest</code> to any category url, and it will redirect to the latest post in the category. As long as the redirection option is on, category menu items will be replace into links of latest posts.

[IMPORTANT] Make sure you have any kinds of walker extension code or pluins to customied menu fields in your wordpress, since the plugin doesn’t include this part. The easiest way is to install <a href="https://wordpress.org/plugins/menu-item-custom-fields/" rel="ugc">Menu Item Custom Fields by Dzikri Aziz</a>.

Once activated, a given slug will redirect to whatever is the most-recently-published post on the site. By default, the slug is <code>latest</code>, but it can be changed from the Permalinks settings screen.
