The 2.5 release dramatically changed the layout of the WordPress Dashboard. 
This plugin implements an admin theme which results in the Dashboard looking 
similar (but not exactly) to how it looked prior to the 2.5 release. This is 
implemented using CSS declarations which take precedence over those shipped 
with WordPress.
This plugin also supports Andy Staines’ <a href="http://www.stuff.yellowswordfish.com/admin-drop-down-menus/" title="Advanced Admin Menus" rel="nofollow ugc">Advanced Admin Menus</a> and similarly 
employs CSS declarations which take precendence over those shipped with the 
plugin. The result is Advanced Admin Menus which look closer to those shipped 
in Andy’s pre-2.5 plugin. The required “click” to activate a menu remains.
This plugin has been tested (but not exhaustively) with IE7, Firefox 2.x, 
Apple’s Safari all running on the Windows platform. No other testing has 
been performed. I personally use IE most of the time but that is largely 
due to some thing I use at work which require IE.

I got the idea to do this after looking at the 
<a href="http://deanjrobinson.com/projects/fluency-admin/" title="Fluency Admin There" rel="nofollow ugc">Fluency Admin Theme</a>, 
which doesn’t support IE or I probably would have used it, and the 
<a href="https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/baltic-amber-admin-themes-and-schemes/" title="Baltic Amber">Baltic Amber</a> theme. 
Fluency redesigns the Dashboard and Baltic Amber offers multiple color choices 
for the Dashboard. After seeing how Baltic Amber loaded, I realized I 
could do something similar for the CSS declarations I wanted to change.

Works out of the box (no coding required) to create a warm pink & neutral admin color scheme.
Based on the work by <a href="http://increasy.com/" rel="nofollow ugc">meabhisek</a> in the <a href="https://wordpress.org/plugins/romance-admin-color-scheme/" rel="ugc">Romance Color Scheme</a>, but extended to cover more of the wp-admin including media upload, focus colors, button colors and text shadows, etc.
Developers: You can use this as a base to create your own color scheme. The plugin will look for a file called admin-color.css in the root of your theme or child theme, and comes with admin-color.scss for you to edit and compile your own. 
This plugin will look for admin-color.css in the root of your theme or child theme, and override the styles used in the plugin itself. It will be a complete override, so you’ll need to move the entire file over, otherwise styles will be missing. This is a developer tool, not an options interface. You’ll need to be comfortable writing CSS and/or Sass and adding files to your theme directory.
CSS: 
In the Resources folder of the plugin, copy admin-color.css to the root of your theme or child theme, and edit colors as you like.
SCSS: 
I’ve provided a Sass file with the necessary variables to make it easier to rapidly create new color schemes. It comes with a relative URL (based on the theme root) to import the other Sass files (mixins and styles) from the plugin itself. Grab that file from the Resources folder and use it to generate your own admin-color.css quickly.

Super Thorough Admin Color Scheme

For some pink schemes, people can go overboard. This one is just right with just the right shade of darker pink. The black and grey areas have all been toned down to be restful on the eyes as well.
