Using <a href="http://smsh.me/" rel="nofollow ugc">Sm00sh</a>, <a href="http://bit.ly" rel="nofollow ugc">Bit.ly</a>, <a href="http://tr.im" rel="nofollow ugc">Tr.im</a>, <a href="http://yourls.org" rel="nofollow ugc">YOURLS</a>, <a href="http://su.pr" rel="nofollow ugc">Su.pr</a> or even your own domain for shortened permalinks (accounts on these services required). So this way you can send status to many sites at once if you have a Ping.fm account or send only to Twitter if you prefer that.

<li>Avoids to ping again when editing previously pinged post or even when editing an old post not pinged before.</li>
<li>Option to choose between Ping.fm or Twitter for new post notifications.</li>
<li>Option to choose between Bit.ly, Tr.im, YOURLS, Su.pr or even you own domain for shortened permalinks.</li>
<li>Option to turn off notification or shortener service. Now you can use Shorten2Ping only for notification if your domain is already short enough for you, or use only to get shortened urls for your posts.</li>

<li>Required your own account for the third party services that you want to use.</li>
<li>Not tested and not supported on IIS servers.</li>

Schmie_twitter is really awesome! When you update or publish a new post on your WordPress Blog, 
it will notifiy your followers on Ping.fm Twitter and / or Identica!!!. 
You can define default messages that are pushed to your Message services or create custom Messages for 
every Post. 
If you’re hoster blocks Twitter (like my Hoster), you can use Twittermail. 
You only need an emailadress on your webspace. 
The plugin supports several Url-shortening-services (is.gd,bit.ly,i2h and tinyurl). If your favortive service is missing, write me an email (schmiddim@gmx.at). It is possible now to use Ping.fm. All you need is of course an account there, 
The User Api Key and an Api Key.
