This plugin allows authors to restrict the users’s access to individual pages, posts and menu items based on the user’s logged in status.
Features for Authors

Additional Features
There are no additional features supported by Simple Access Control. The code is simple, small and well documented, 
so you can use it as a starting point for your own access control plugin.

Well thought out -- uses filters to hide selected pages and menu items.

A bit more documentation would be nice though -- it took me a while to find the extra check boxes on the right hand side of the post/page editing form.

This plugin adds a new optoin (only available on the Add/Edit page sections) that enables the author to assign the page to one of 4 navigation types(Super, Head, Side, Page, Foot) to be used in a new function (wp_list_navtype_pages), that will replace the wp_list_pages() function.
All the same parameters are acceptable, and we have added one new parameter that sets the navigation type navigationtype= “super” || “head” || “side” || “page” || “foot”
