Simple Web Marketing

The Simple Web Marketing Attribution plugin captures attribution data from users visiting your site, including UTM parameters, referrer information, and automatic detection of webmail providers (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) and search engines. It stores this data in the visitor’s browser local storage and automatically submits it to hidden fields in forms. Capturing these attribution utm parameters with your lead records will let you run reports on your customer database to see which marketing channels result in customers and which do not.
The plugin also includes a link builder tool to help you generate UTM tags for your marketing campaigns and a link library to keep track of the UTM tags you have generated.

<h3>External services</h3>
This plugin optionally connects to two external services, both operated by Simple Web Marketing. Connection to the Simple Web Marketing Cloud is opt-in and can be disabled from the Settings screen at any time.
Simple Web Marketing Cloud (opt-in)

<li>Service: Simple Web Marketing Cloud Platform (operated by Simple Web Marketing, simplewebmarketing.com)</li>
<li>Purpose (registration): When cloud sync is first enabled, the plugin registers your site by sending your site URL, admin email address, and site name to the registration endpoint. This creates an account and returns an API key that is stored locally. Registration only happens once per site.</li>
<li>Purpose (conversion sync): After each form submission or phone-click conversion recorded locally, the plugin sends the UTM attribution data (source, medium, campaign, term, content), page URL, event type, and timestamp to the SWM Cloud ingest endpoint. This is a fire-and-forget request that does not affect page performance.</li>
<li>Data Sent: Site URL, admin email (registration only), site name (registration only), UTM parameters, page URL, event type, timestamp.</li>
<li>When data is sent: Only when cloud sync is enabled in Settings and only on conversion events.</li>

HubSpot Forms API (opt-in, existing feature)

<li>Purpose: To submit form data and associated marketing attribution metadata (UTM parameters, referrer) from your site to your HubSpot portal when the HubSpot Proxy feature is used.</li>
<li>Data Sent: When a visitor submits a form configured with our tracking, the plugin sends the form field values (user-provided input), the page URL, the page title, and captured attribution data (UTM source, medium, campaign, term, content, and full attribution log).</li>

A simple plugin to capture and store web marketing attribution tags with most forms.

Addon for Contact Form 7 that creates a new kind of input that contains the URL of the page the user visited before the contact form page. This plugin works well with cache plugins, because the field is filled using javascript on the user’s computer in stead of the server.
You can choose where in your email to introduce this info by using a mail-tag, like any other field.
<h4>How to use it?</h4>
Once you have installed and activated your plugin, a new type of field will be available in your Contact Form 7 forms. In order to add it to your form, you can either click on the “Referrer” button above your form editor, or add the shortcode like: [cf7rfr_referrer {your-referrer}] ({your-referrer} has to be replaced by the name you want to give the field)
To recover the field’s info on your email, use this tag: [{your-referrer}]. It will print a URL.
<h4>What referrer?</h4>
This plugin looks at the HTTP referrer. Not at the traffic source. So, if your user comes from google, clicks some links in your site and ends up in your contact form page, the field will contain the last page in your site your client visited. It will not tell you whether the client landed from Google. This is meant to give you some context to the user’s message. Sometimes, they say “I love this product!” but you have no idea which one they are talking about. With the referrer field, at least you know what they saw last.
