Grabs images & videos matching any hashtag from social APIs like instagram & youtube. Stores thumbnails & details locally for each one in a custom post type so you have full control over the content on your site. This allows you to categorize, make private/public, etc and include them any wayt hat you like on your pages.
Extendable to include twitter, telportd and others as well.
We first developed this for the original Kony2012 site, it was a huge hit. Sorry that it took so long to get it into the WordPress plugins.

Social Hashtags

The plugin did everything I hoped for, but when I wanted to display 360x360 thumbnails I found out it doesn't actually upload the photos to WordPress. It only grabs the full size URL, and the thumbnail URL (150x150), neither of which are ideal for my cases.
Would be great to have the option to "Upload a copy to this website", or at the very least get a few more image sizes.

Artifakt Digital

The artifakt Hashtag Plugin allows you to easily and quickly make keywords 
searchable across your website, in the same way it does on other websites where 
hashtags are used. Just adding the # symbol in front of a word or phrase makes 
it a link to the archive page of that hashtag.
Originally this plugin simply created links to a search results page for the 
hashtags, and that worked well but we got to thinking about SEO and how it 
would be nice to index the hashtags on your site. So we created a custom taxonomy 
“Hashtags” (duh) so now you have some options on how you display the archive 
pages and the SEO meta for the pages (if you are so inclinded). You could even 
create a tag cloud of all your hashtags using WordPress’ tag cloud widget.
We are leaving all the customizing of the archive pages and SEO work up to you 
and your theme but your options are much more plentyful since version 2.0
