<p>The SQLite plugin is a community, feature plugin. The intent is to allow testing an SQLite integration with WordPress and gather feedback, with the goal of eventually landing it in WordPress core.</p>
<p>This feature plugin includes code from the PHPMyAdmin project (specifically parts of the PHPMyAdmin/sql-parser library), licensed under the GPL v2 or later. "PDO Driver for SQLite is missing" alone on an blank page, wheverer I go



Stuck. My somewhat "well crafted" and sophisticated testing site gone away, it seemed. 




Why could this plugin not check the availability of this driver before presenting a clickable button, or even proceeding?



Since I'm knowledgable enough to delete the ´wp-content/db.php´ file I was soon back to start, so I don't need help.



Others, if less knowledable in WP, should be warned and stay away until proper tests can be made before proceeding. On screen instructions on how to manually disable it in an emergency should also be given.


Possibly worst UX trap I have ever seen


I used it to spin up a test site in CI, it's just elegant and brings WP closer to Static when we need it. There's a place for SQLite simplicity in some WP workflows. Loved it!

Great Plugin! Makes WP so fast!


Ok, so in terms of doing what it says in the tin, for me it looks great. I've set up 20 - 30 instances, it runs my core plugins and has a footprint of ~ 105M when running with a default setup. Seems to be at least as fast as the MySQL instances sat next to them.



Here's the problem tho'. It would seem I can't actually convert any existing sites over to run on these instances without a lot of manual work. (I say this after reading the experiences of some others who claim to have tried).



Are there any relatively automatic tools and/or documentation that I might have missed when it comes to migrating a MySQL instance over to SqLite (and back, in the event of a problem), or at least a Roadmap of if / when such tools or plugins might become available?



A roadmap or estimation might at least (if it's a long way away) prompt someone to get on and do it?

<p>WooCommerce’s Order and Subscription pages allow store owners to search for orders and subscriptions by customer name, email, and other attributes. By default, it does a general substring search. For example, if you put OllieJones into the search box, it will search with <code>LIKE '%OllieJones%'</code> using the leading wildcard <code>%</code>. That’s astonishingly slow on sites with many orders.</p>
<p>Upon activation this plugin uses ActionScheduler to run a background process to create a special-purpose index table, a table of trigrams, to speed up that search. Then it uses those trigrams to search for orders.</p>
<p>The downside: the trigram table takes database space and takes time to generate.</p>
<p>The orders page itself contains a slow query to look up meta_keys. This fixes that query’s performance too, using a cache of available values.</p>
<h4>If you have problems</h4>
<p>The WordPress and WooCommerce ecosystems offer many optional features enabled by plugins. And, WooCommerce sites run on many different versions of database server. It is not possible to test this plugin on every imaginable combination. So, you may have problems getting it to work.</p>
<p>Sometimes the process of creating the index table does not complete correctly. And, sometimes you cannot find some orders after the index is created.</p>
<p>If you tell the author about these problems, he will attempt to fix them. Please create a support topic, then visit Site Health, view the Info tab, click the Copy Site Info to Clipboard button, and paste that information into the support topic. And, of course, please describe what is going wrong.</p>
