About the name: “Supan” (スパン) is a Japanese loanword meaning “span” — the arc or spectrum of connections. It reflects the family of Supan plugins for WordPress site management.
<h4>Source Code</h4>
The full React/TypeScript source for the compiled JavaScript assets is included directly in this plugin under the <code>src/</code> directory. Build tooling configuration is in <code>vite.config.ts</code> and <code>vite.gutenberg.config.ts</code>.
To regenerate the compiled assets from source:

<li>Run <code>pnpm install</code> in the plugin root</li>
<li>Run <code>pnpm build</code> to produce <code>build/supaseo.js</code> and <code>build/supaseo-gutenberg.js</code></li>

<h3>External services</h3>
This plugin connects to the Supan API, a third-party service hosted on Google Cloud Run, to perform on-demand SEO analysis, FAQ generation, llms.txt file building, AI citation scoring, and internal link suggestions. The Supan API is operated by Ganda Tech Services Pty Ltd, the same author as this plugin.
The plugin will not function without this connection because the analysis, AI generation, and scoring logic runs server-side on the Supan API. No analysis happens locally inside WordPress.

What is sent, and when:

<li>When you click Analyse on a post or page (from the plugin dashboard, the Gutenberg sidebar, or the bulk-scan flow): the plugin sends the page’s rendered HTML content, the canonical URL, the page title, the meta description, and your API key. This is needed so the API can score the page and return SEO issues + recommendations.</li>
<li>When you click Generate FAQ: the plugin sends the page title or topic string you entered, plus your API key. Returned JSON-LD is injected into the page.</li>
<li>When you click Build llms.txt: the plugin sends a list of post/page URLs and titles from your site, plus your API key. The returned <code>llms.txt</code> is written to your site root.</li>
<li>When you click Run AI Citation Check: the plugin sends the canonical URL and topic keywords, plus your API key. The API forwards the query to Perplexity Sonar and returns a confidence score.</li>
<li>When you click Suggest Internal Links: the plugin sends the post content and an excerpt of other posts on your site, plus your API key. Suggested anchors come back as a list.</li>

No request is sent automatically. Every API call is triggered by an explicit user action in wp-admin. No request is made from the public-facing front-end of your site, and no visitor data is transmitted.
Data that is NOT sent: WordPress user accounts, comments, post authorship, email addresses, IP addresses, or any post/page that you have not explicitly chosen to analyse.

Inlinks is an award winning technology that can read content and analyze the underlying entities or topics in the content to create Knowledge Graphs.
It builds these knowledge graphs of content on its main servers and uses this to help identify the most important topics on a page. With direction from you, pages are set with target topics. These are usually from a list but could be any Wikipedia article if needed. Armed with this “human in the loop”, the Inlinks AI is able to:

Generate Internal Links to the target topic/page from the other pages on the site. Becuase the AI is based around entities and not keywords, the NLP algorithm spots synonyms and makes informed judgements as to the anchor text to use it its links. All links can be viewed and modified on the inlinks.net servers.

Generate “About” Schemas for each page where a primary topic is set. Now need to worry about syntax as Inlinks does it all. About schema is unique to each page and gives modern search engines clear indications as to the primary content meaning. Each scheam line directs the search engine to the underlying Wikipedia URL for the topic (or other URL if overridden by the user)

Generate “Mentions” schemas. These are topics/entities that are prominent on the page but not the primary purpose for the content.

Generate FAQ Schemas. Where more than one question is seen in an H tag on the page, followed by paragraphs of text, these are seen as FAQ pages (or sections) and the schema is automatically generated. PLEASE NOTE It is not ideal to generate more than one form of FAQ Schema on a page. Please either delete the FAQ Schema created by this plugin or disable the FAQ Schema generation from other plugins for best practice.
