Comment Ban Manager was created out of a need to manage bans. Sometimes, when the discussion becomes ugly, you want to temporarily ban people rather than permanently, in order to let them cool down. Or you want to implement a “three strikes you’re out” policy. When you have a lot of comments and heated discussions, managing this manually can take a substantial amount of your precious time. Comment Ban Manager keeps track of all this for you, so you can focus on more rewarding activities.
As an additional feature, you can also ban comments from the Tor network. In our experience, it was used a lot by banned people to circumvent our bans.
Features:

<li>Wildcards in IP addresses allowed (xxx.yyy.. and xxx.yyy.zzz.*)</li>

FeenBan is a simple WordPress plugin that implements user <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hellbanning" rel="nofollow ugc">shadowbanning</a> (or hellbanning) for comments.
Comments by shadowbanned users will be invisible to all other users. However, the shadowbanned users will continue to see their own comments, hopefully oblivious to the fact that they’ve been shadowbanned. This is non-destructive in that changes are not made to the comments themselves. Shadowbanned comments are still saved to the database and visible to admins in the dashboard comments listing. All that happens is that a ‘shadowban’ flag is set in the user metadata.
If you disable this plugin, showbanned comments will become visible to all users.
