Attracting links to your site is the hard part of SEO. Ideally your content will speak for itself and naturally attract links over time. But why not encourage linking by making it easy for other webmasters to link to you?
If you have unique and interesting images, photos, or infographics on your site the chances are that other webmasters are already picking these up and using them on their own sites. That’s great if they link back to you, but many won’t. This is why we built WP Image Embeds. It is a simple plugin designed to make it easy for other webmasters to embed your images, while at the same time linking back to you.

<h3>How does it work?</h3>
When you install and activate the plugin you will have access to a new option in the Customizer, Display Image Embed. Here you can choose to activate the plugin site wide on posts and/or pages. By default the plugin is not active on pages or posts.
If you only want to run the plugin on certain pages you can leave these site wide settings unchecked and instead simple activate the plugin on a particular page or post. This option appears on the page or post edit screen as a new meta box below the main content editor.

With this plugin you can:
<ul>
<li>Set the image filename as the image Title.</li>
<li>Set the image filename as the image Caption.</li>
<li>Set the image filename as the image Description.</li>
<li>Set the image filename as the image Alt Text. This was a default feature in WordPress before 4.7. The plugin restores this essential feature which is great for SEO.</li>
<li>Insert Image Title into post HTML. WordPress stopped adding Image Titles to images since WordPress 3.5. The plugin restores it.</li>
<li>Remove hyphens from the image filename.</li>
<li>Remove underscores from the image filename.</li>
<li>Remove full stops from filename.</li>
<li>Remove commas from filename.</li>
<li>Remove all numbers from filename.</li>
<li>Choose to turn off any of the above mentioned features.</li>
<li>Display image attributes as columns in Media Library list view.</li>

With the bulk updater you can:

If your image filename is My_image-name.jpg, your Image Title, Caption, Description And Alt Text will be My image name.
The plugin settings and bulk updater are in WordPress Admin > Settings > Image Attributes. Here you can choose which attributes to update for NEW uploads.
Please remember to take a database backup before running the bulk updater (or anything bulk in general). The bulk updater updates ALL attributes for existing images in the Media Library and ignores the settings set for NEW uploads.

Auto Image Attributes From Filename With Bulk Updater (Add Alt Text, Image Title For Image SEO)


the title says it. This plugin will overwrite existing Alt Text values. This is bad if you've already added any Alt Text values yourself in the past, those will be lost and overwritten with the file name... probably with a non human friendly file name.



If they update this later to check for existing values and don't overwrite those then I would recommend giving it another try.



PS: this goes for ALL title, alt text, description, and caption. All of these will be overwritten even if you already have it set to something.
