For a while, I’ve been a bit annoyed with WordPress losing pings (those automatic links on your blog when someone links to you) anytime someone links to more than one of my posts. It turns out WordPress’s comment flood prevention is getting in the way. This plugin prevents WordPress from discarding these pings.

Prevents WordPress from eating pings that come too quickly in succession (i.e. a single post linking to more than one of your pages).

When you link to a website you can send it a Webmention to notify it and then that website may display your post as a comment, like, or other response, and presto, you’re having a conversation from one site to another!
A <a href="https://www.w3.org/TR/webmention/" rel="nofollow ugc">Webmention</a> is a notification that one URL links to another. Sending a Webmention is not limited to blog posts, and can be used for additional kinds of content and responses as well.
For example, a response can be an RSVP to an event, an indication that someone “likes” another post, a “bookmark” of another post, and many others. Webmention enables these interactions to happen across different websites, enabling a distributed social web.
The Webmention plugin supports the Webmention protocol, giving you support for sending and receiving Webmentions. It offers a simple built in presentation.

Easiest way to integrate Webmentions!

This is fantastic. I joined indieweb a few days ago. Last night I wanted to know "So what actually does the technical implementation of a WebMention look like?". I am now working on improving my understanding and perhaps I'll create some documentation that I find easier than the w3c spec or a WP plugin.
