Team List is a plugin that helps you to create a simple team site using your WordPress users with various display options. Either use a block, a shortcode, a template tag or the built-in widget to display blog authors.
After creating similar functionality for a couple of clients, we decided to roll our knowledge into this simple plugin. It’s really straightforward to use:
First of all, the plugin adds a small checkbox to the user profile in WordPress to toggle its visibility in the team list. This means you can decide for every user whether he should show up in the team list or not.
You can then use one of these ways to display the list anywhere on your site.
Action
Use the <code>wp_team_list</code> hook to directly display the users in your theme or plugin.
For example, you can show users of any role ordered by their name:

Block
Use the “Team List” block in the block-based editor to display one or more team lists in any post types. You can select one or more roles and change the order. If you want you can also provide a link to a full team page.
Shortcode
Use the <code>[wp_team_list]</code> shortcode to display a team list in your posts. Supported arguments:
<ul>
<li><code>role</code> – Filter users by roles (comma-separated). 
Use <code>all</code> to show users with any role. 
Default: <code>administrator</code></li>
<li><code>orderby</code> 
Default: <code>post_count</code></li>
<li><code>order</code> – Either <code>asc</code> or <code>desc</code>. 
Default: <code>desc</code>.</li>
<li><code>include</code> – Filter users with specific IDs (comma-separated).</li>
<li><code>has_published_posts</code> – Filter users with published posts. 
Either a comma-separated list of post types or <code>true</code> to filter by all post types.</li>
</ul>
Example:

Pro tip: If you use the <a href="https://wordpress.org/plugins/shortcode-ui/" rel="ugc">Shortcake WordPress plugin</a>, you’ll get an inline preview of the shortcode right in the visual editor. You can also add the shortcode with the click of a button.
Widget
Want do display the team members in your sidebar? Use the built-in WordPress widget. You can set the role you want, the number of users to show and even link to a separate team page.

<h3>Multiple Authors</h3>
With PublishPress Authors, you can set multiple authors for each post. When you write a post, you’ll see a box in the right sidebar. Here you can choose from all the users on your site, and assign them as coauthors.

<h3>Guest Authors</h3>
Using PublishPress Authors, you can create Guest Authors who don’t need an account on your site. PublishPress will treat Guest Authors identically to Authors who are linked users.
You will be able to select and display Guest Authors in exactly the same way as for registered users. Each Guest Author can have a full profile, plus an avatar, and their own archive page for blog posts.
You can create two types of Guest Authors. You can add authors to a new “Guest Author” user role, or add them without a connected account.

<h3>Author Categories</h3>
Author Categories is a feature that allows you to have different types of authors for WordPress post. For example, you can label one user as an “Author”, one as “Contributor” and one as an “Editor”. This enables you to give different types of credit to the all the people who work on your content.
PublishPress Authors Pro has a feature that allows you do more with Author Categories. You can create an “Author Categories Box”. This is a display format for your images that is specifically designed to group authors together in their categories.

<h3>Author Fields</h3>
PublishPress Authors allows you to customize the user details for each author. This is possible with the “Author Fields” feature. These fields can be displayed using the Author Boxes feature. <h3>Author Lists</h3>
The Author Lists feature allows you to show a custom display of authors. For example, the “Author Index” view can organize your authors alphabetically. There will be a row of letters on the top of this display. If you click on any of the letters, you’ll be able to drill down to view only the authors whose names begin with that letter. There’s also a “Author Recent” view that allows you to show your authors, together with their most recent posts.

<h3>Author Pages</h3>
PublishPress Authors can replace the default WordPress author pages. The URLs of the pages will not change, but you can customize the pages using the settings on this screen.
Your author page will appear with an author box on the top of the screen and the author’s posts underneath. You can choose a “List” or a “Grid” option and you’re also free to create your own layouts.
