Make comments management easier by applying the simple hacks Joost has gathered over the years.
This plugin adds some small hacks around core WordPress comments to make them more bearable:
<ul>
<li>Cleaner comment notification emails.</li>
<li>The option to enforce a comment policy: just create a comment policy page, toggle the option on and select it, and 
commenters will have to accept your comment policy before being able to comment.</li>
<li>The option to forward comments to an email address (for instance for your support team) and then trash them.</li>
<li>The option to disallow comments below and above a certain length.</li>
<li>The option to redirect first time commenters to a “thank you” page.</li>
<li>An input field on the comment edit screen to change the comment parent ID.</li>
<li>Links in the admin comments section to email individual commenters.</li>
<li>A button in the WP toolbar to email all the commenters on a post.</li>
<li>Adds a comment routing option. This adds a dropdown in a post’s discussion settings, allowing the routing of comment emails to another user.</li>

Update: I’ve revamped the plugin and improved it’s security, performance and styling. And also, I’m in the middle of adding a feature to send out Birthday Emails to members. You will see that I’ve created a settings page, and also most of the code has been created. However, I’ve ran out of time to get this completed, for now, and thought I’d send out the updated plugin, as it’s now significantly improved.
This is a Plugin that creates a multi-instance ‘Birthdays’ Widget that you can use in your Buddypress pages. Once you’ve created a datebox field in the Buddypress profiles and referenced it in the TLDC Birthdays widget settings, the widget will display the list of either all BP users or just the connected user’s friends whose birthday is today and also, if you like, the list of upcoming birthdays within the next n days. Plugin now supports Andy Peatling’s Buddypress Followers plugin when installed, so that you can also track the birthdays of people you follow.
So to sum up, in order to get things to work, you’ll need :

<li>A birthday field in the Buddypress extended profile settings</li>
<li>Users to fill it out in their profiles</li>
<li>The TDLC Birthdays widget properly installed and set up (see Installation)</li>
</ul>
Features :
<ul>
<li>Display only friends, or followed people (if BuddyPress Followers plugin is installed), or everybody’s birthday</li>
<li>Display upcoming birthdays within a range of your choice, or just today’s birthdays</li>
<li>Hide or show ages</li>
<li>Optionally suggest your users to fill out their birth date if not already done</li>
<li>Multiple widget instances now supported !</li>
</ul>
Remarks:
<ul>
<li>Localized! Currently English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Russian and Spanish languages are included. Many thanks to the translators!</li>
<li>Sounds obvious but in “display friends only” mode, as you only see your friend’s birthdays, you wont see your own birthday in the widget. This does not mean that your friends don’t see it either! Same thing goes with the Followers option.</li>

In order to get the widget working, you need to fill out the Birthday field Name (or ID). The Birthday field must have been previously created in the Buddypress profile page (and it should be a datebox type field). Of course, the users must also fill it out on their profile pages…

The other settings are self-explanatory (or at least I hope so).

<h3>Known Issues</h3>
<ul>
<li>Some translations are incomplete. The new strings related to the ‘Followers’ plugin support added in v0.2.5 is not translated yet except for French and English.</li>
