The Word: Catholic Scripture Reflections

Displays the liturgical date and two Scripture reflections on that week’s readings.

“The Word” shortcode/widget automatically updates weekly and features scripture reflections and material from our archives. It focuses on the upcoming Sunday readings as well as some holy days and feasts.

1. Download the plugin.
2. Upload it to the plugins folder of your blog.
3. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
4. To use The Word as a widget, go to the Widgets page in the Appearance section and set up The Word.
5. You can also place The Word anywhere on a post, page, or area that will accept shortcodes. Just use this shortcode: [the_word].

   Full visual widget display on the front end; picks up styling from the user's theme.

   Simple widget display on the front end; picks up styling from the user's theme, but omits the graphic elements present in the full visual version.

   Widget options: select either the simple template or full visual.
