bbPress import Google Group

Import Google Groups into bbPress.

Requires at least bbPress 2.5.x
Tested with bbPress 2.6-Beta2

Current features:

• Import a public google group
• Import the body of the messages
• Create separate users

Still to do in future versions :

(more or less in this order)

• An input form so people don’t need to go into the code to e.g add the name of the group
• Option for a partial ‘test’ import (no real topics/replies created)
• Import a private group (copy cookies)
• Import pictures
• Import attachments
• Import the full message
• Import existing users from the management page ?

Consider also the following plugins:

• bbPress Toolkit
• bbPress Move Topics
• bbPress API

Option 1:

1. On your dashboard, go to Plugins > Add new
2. search for bbPress Import Google Group
3. install and activate the plugin
4. Check your Dashboard: Tools > bbP Import Google Group

Option 2:

1. Unzip the contents to the “/wp-content/plugins/” directory.
2. Activate the plugin through the “Plugins” menu in WordPress.
3. Check your Dashboard: Tools > bbP Import Google Group
