Description

Adds cryptocurrency price quotes and ticker symbols in your posts. Use shortcode [crypto]bitcoin[/crypto] or [crypto id=bitcoin /]. Displays the ticker symbol, 24H change, and current price.

This plugin fetches prices from CoinMarketCap.com hourly. https://pro.coinmarketcap.com/user-agreement-personal/

Installation

  1. Click “Add New” in the plugins dashboard
  2. Search for “Crypto Prices”
  3. Click “Install Now”
  4. Activate the plugin

Frequently Asked Questions

How often are the prices updated?

Hourly. We might make this configurable in the future.

Will more coins be added?

Yes. Currently, this just fetches the top 100 coins from CMC, but we’ll fetch more.

Can we add prices to cryptocurrency ticker symbols automatically?

No. This could create issues where prices are added to words that look like ticker symbols.
