Default Values For Attachments

Default Values for Attachments gives you the ability to include default titles, captions or descriptions for every image uploaded using the Media Uploader.

You can still set individual values for field of every image. And you can unset defaults anytime.

1. Upload to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
3. Go to Media -> Default Values on your Dashboard

Why can’t i set Alternate Text?

Alternate texts are used by screen readers to replace the image you’re using, so it’s really not a good practice to give it a default value, although a value should be provided for every non-decorative images.

Also, the filter hook used to set the defaults can’t, at this point, take information pertaining to the wp_postmeta db table.
